Today would of been my nanna's birthday,

So i want to wish her a very happy birthday!

My nan aka Doreen Hayes sadly passed away last june (part of the reason i was away from here) the morning she died me and norma were sposed to go and see her, she passed away in her sleep.

When me and my little brother were growing up, she looked after us, she was our second mum, my mum and dad worked hard to keep a roof over our heads, so nan was our main carer and i have some very fond memories of her.

I love you nanna i hope the angels are looking after you up there and treating you to a very special day.

wow jane,

thank you so much for sharing your story. It is heartwarming when someone or something reminds us to remember our very special loved ones who have gone on to heaven.

my grandmother's birthday is march 13.....thank you for reminding me to wish her a happy birthday. My "bobba" was my "second mom" too....we were so close and i sat with her for 6 1/2 weeks while she passed. I held her hand as she took her last breath, that was my gift to her.

jane, you are an absolute angel, thank you for being you.

(((hugs)))) My grandma helped raise my brother and me after my parents split up. She was also my 2nd mom. February was her birthday. She passed 30 years ago last August. I think when you are that close to a person you still feel their loss long after they pass, just a little less sharply then you do in the beginning. I know you are still going through your first year of firsts without your nan and that's probably the hardest year. That and the 2nd year when everyone else seems to have moved on. Thank you for sharing with us. I'm sure your Nan is looking down with smiles at you and Norma and your family.
