I am new to here and recently diagnosed with Lupus (sle). Thank you all for being here. It is a really challenging process, this Lupus.
Presently my most irritating & all consuming symptom, besides 'fog' is overwhelming itchyness except my butterfly! Any suggestions would be helpful

Hi Cindy. Welcome to WHL. We are so glad that you found us. Yes, this disease is frustrating and sometimes isolating and that is why we are here. From this point on you are part of our WHL family and we will be here whenever you need us. As for the itching, I have found that I am allergic to almost everything. Of course sunlight and Florescent lights are the worst. A trip to the store requires 50UV ray protection sunscreen, long sleeves, a hat, long pants and if outside an umbrella! They break me out and make me itch so terribly bad! Then the fog sets in, followed by the fatigue. I can no longer use perfumes or most makeup. You may have to try removing one thing at a time for a week to see if the itching is better. It will take time but you will find out what bothers you the most.

Anyway, welcome again to WHL. Make yourself at home. Look through old posts or start new ones if you want. We are glad that you found us and I look forward to getting to know you

Hi Cindy,
Welcome to our large supporting family of the WHL and you learn so much about the condition's with member's suffering like yourself.
Everything tgal as said about everything irrating her skin, even the sun i suffer with and have to use sun block.

I had the butterfly rash like yourself that took months to heal up but never knew what caused till i was diagnosed but i just found it sore but for helping your rashes my skin specialist as had me on steroid creams on different occassions to help them clear up but he does give me a break as they are an ageing cream, so you could possibly ask about the steriod creams to help as i know the itching is so irrating it's unbelieveable.

All the best Terri & it will be nice getting to know you. xxx
