Hi All,
I just got some lab results back from my doctor's office (antibody tests not in yet).

Everything looks fairly normal except for:

a) a mildly elevated CK which was 220 (range >190) [my last CK was 150]
b) a mildly elevated MCH at 33 (range >33)

When I saw this new specialist, she said my symptoms sounded more like MS to her than Lupus. She has also booked me for an MRI for my brain.

I know that these tests are only slightly elevated, but I can't find any good reason why they should be elevated at all (no exercise before test, no alcohol, good B12 and folic acid levels).

Do any of your great minds have an idea what could be going on?
Thanks!!

Hey Harper,

Looks like you did your homework! I am not exactly sure what to tell you because I have been done this road so many times and I think many of us have. My only advice for you is just go with it. Let them test away! I can't find any good reason why my body does most of the things it does but I am sure someone will come by with a better answer for you. All I can say is that many of us have gone down this road of "oh maybe it is this so let's test for it." Just relax and go with it. It is all autoimmune and hopefully with enough test they will figure something out!

Hey tgal,
I feel like i have to do my homework, as no one person can seem to explain it all to me. Sometimes I think if I were well I would apply again to medical school...I love this board :)

Things are a bit slow with the medical answers right now due to the holidays. If you don't get the answers you are looking for we can bump the thread back up after jan 1

My cpk has been in the 5 digit level. Cpk is an enzym tha comes frm your muscles when they get broken down. Like with weight lifting, acident and such. I have myositis and that is what causs mine s it is a muscle disease. The treatment is basicaly same as sle. Do you have a lot of fatigue and los of muscle strenth and tone? I had a doc try and say ms. My fist time in the high range where they said that said my kidneys were starting to shut down. They hosp me and pumped me with flids and steroids. I have isus mainly with the sle now since treatment is similar. Hope this helps.
