So my best friends mom has been told for several years they think she has Lupus..several symptoms, but never positive blood work. Not knowing what else it was I am sure. (diagnosis by default) She has taken very good care of herself, and recently, has not been feeling well.Long story short, cardiologist and pulmonologist batted her back and forth..to no avail( she had breathing issues) .She got an appointment with the head of Rheumatology at Columbia Presbyterian Hosp NYC. He was shocked a previous doc told her Lupus, and he did some serious testing for vasculitis..DX Giant Cell Ateritis..very serious. From what I've read it can be part of Lupus...anyone have this?

My aunt has this. The aunt that until this summer was told for 20 years that she had MS. I think it can mimic both Lupus and MS and probably other AI issues too. I am still learning about it and will share whatever I find with you.
