Does anybody know the difference between a MRI and a MRA? I know I had a MRI that only showed an enlarged corartid artery for no reason. i've had 2 episodes, severe headache followed within about 5 min by vomiting then tremors on my right side. First MRI didn't show speces or hot spots etc. Is the MRA to get to the vascular level to see if I have narrowing of arteries or something? i don't know what to expect, I have it on Thursday with 3 other procedures (at least out of the way in 1 day). Any insight or expierience in this area would be greatly appreciated. I hope everybody is having an engery filled day - after laying in the bed allllll wknd I woke up feeling invigorated! Lets hope it lasts a while for now

Hi Lupine,

Here is a link to a site that explains in layman terms the differences between the two procedures-

Hope this helps,
