Hey all. Feels like its been forever so I figured I would post to let you know how I was doing. Baby is fine thus far :) Growing appropriately and for those of you who might have missed my other post weeks ago it is a GIRL :) I am 19 weeks exactly today!

As for the Lupus portion of my life, it has given me some problems but nothing major. I have some neuropathy back at times. I actually wrote to my rheumy and asked her if I might've had Erythromelalgia(hot, burning hands & feet that get red etc.) but she said my symptoms sound more like neuropathy and my neuro I see said my pin prick test showed patchiness like vasculitis. So, with that said I also asked why all my tests have been negative thus far and she said that all tests can be imperfect and since neuropathy can be patchy anyway "it may be due to a sampling error." At least she believes me without needing a test result to prove it! lol My allergies are flaring up majorly and I believe the headaches Im getting are either sinuses(I had mastoiditis before on my MRI)or migraines. I have tried every allergy med I can take before the pregnancy(Zyrtec, Singulair, Flonase, Dexamethasone Spray)and things I was aloud to have during pregnancy(Claritin, Tylenol Allergy and Saline Nasal Spray.) The only other suggestion my rheumy had was trying a netti pot. So if that doesn't work I guess I am gonna have to deal with it :/.

I also spoke with her about the testing they wanted to do before I found out I was pregnant(MRI/MRA w/& w/out contrast dye). She agreed with my neuro that should be done after I have the baby to evaluate me and to my surprise she wants to treat me afterwards(probably with prednisone) to prevent a huge flare since I am having some symptoms still anyway after being on the Plaquenil since June & having some symptoms during the pregnancy. I hope that this helps and I dont end up having seizures from hormone fluctuation. Ugh.

Everything else seems to be going the way it should. A lot more aches and pains this time and since I have an anterior(front lying)placenta I dont feel the baby much at all. It kinda bums me out cuz I really dont feel pregnant otherwise lol What gives me away is the belly lol I will post a new pic for everyone sometime today. I hope you all are well and thanks for the support! *hugs* -Lupie Britt

P.S. I will be going back to the specialist for another scan May 10th so I will post the new sono pic then :) Take care and God Bless!

Hi Britt,
It's good to see an update on you and your baby. It sounds like you are doing well - just hang in there.
Have you read BonusMom's posts about headaches? She was recently hospitalized for a bad one, and they have her on some new meds for migraines. Perhaps you should read her posts and talk to your doc about what is safe for you both before and after having the baby.
Neuropathy is also a tough one. I have it, and I swear that it is PN, but the neuro doesn't believe me because it doesn't show up on his tests. He's convinced that it's CNS. You are lucky to have a doc who listens to you.
I bought a helpful book at the Sjogren's conference call "You can cope with Peripheral Neuropathy". It might be very helpful to you. It' available at the Sjogren's Foundation site - http://www.sjogrens.org/ssfstore?page=shop.browse&category_id=2
Take good care of yourself and the little one, and keep updating us.

Congratulations! Hope you stay rested and healthy for the rest of your term!

have you got a name for her yet?

Yes we are thinking about Emma as a first name...but a middle name is hard...girls names are harder than boys too! lol

Emma is a beautiful name. How about Emma Marie? Those two names flow together.
Just my two cents worth.....
