In the renal ultra sound scan a complex kidney cyst was found with possible septic or derbies in it of size 1.3cm X 1.4cm. this was 2 years ago. Urologist orders ultra sound every year to monitor the size and shape. so this year scan showed same size. The word "Septic" worries me. it is located on my left kidney pole.

last week I took my dad to his doctor (nephrologist) and told him my situation. he said you should have cyst taken out that I am taking too much risk it might become cancer. I not sure who to listen ANY INPUT?

hi ssingh,

i don't really have any input...that is a tough question. i guess i would suggest that you get another opinion. However, the nephrologist is the kidney specialist, and the urologist focuses on the bladder. Therefore, i would probably put some thought into the nehprologist's advice. I am having some kidney issues associated with lupus, and i see a nephrologist. He is familiar with lupus and how it can attack the kidneys...he watches me very closely.

take care, and keep us posted.
