so its 1 AM right now and yet again I am awoken by my toes itching like mad and burning for the second night in a row.. i decide to actually get out of bed and go look at them and when i did...holy crap!.. my toes were all red and swollen and HOT to the touch. I have no idea what this is all about:hissyfit:. All i know is that a couple of days ago this purple/reddish blister looking mark appeared on one of my toes and they look all dry and cracked and now all this started..ofcourse i looked this up and it says that its Erythromelalgia...some kind of rare blood vessel issue ... i get this same hot burning feeling in my ears and face often to but i didnt ever have it on my toes until this past week. Had no idea what it was but ofcourse upon my reading it says it could be a part of SLE...well i must say im NOT suprised in the slightest bit! every single symptom i seem to put it points right to LUPUS. Im as you could guess undiagnosed but was about 80% sure i had lupus before this started and now im really just starting to feel completely convinced!!! I mean common i have ALL of the symptoms. Im SO tired and really upset that i cant even get some sleep at night because of all these issues im having. I currently dont have health insurance but beleive me I am working on it ASAP!! I really dont think i can take much more of these unanswered symptoms! I keep developing these crazy weird things . MAybe I would be a little bit happier if all this crap didnt interfere with my little sleep that i get already. Im sorry im ranting and raving!! But im sure you can all understand how im feeling because i bet im not the only one going through this right now.Well i hope you are all sleeping peacefully!!!!

Hi Ivana,

Guess what I'm not doing tonight. Like you, I'm not sleeping! My feet have been giving me problems too. They burn, then itch deep down below the skin. I have both SLE, and MS. The burning in my feet is due to neuropathy from the MS. I have an IV Methylpred treatment coming up, which should help with the nerve related pain.

I read all about your various symptoms. I'm no Dr., but your symptoms do sound like they are autoimmune related. You mentioned all the strange and ever changing symptoms. That's what it's like for me, and many others with Lupus. I seem to develop a new pain or symptom every few days. A new pain, itch, burn, or rash makes life frustrating. I hope you can get your insurance issues resolved so you can see a rheumotologist and hopefully find an answer to what's causing your symptoms so you can begin some form of treatment.

Lupus, and other autoimmune diseases can be notoriously difficult to diagnose. Be persistent with your various doctors and specialists, and don't let anyone tell you it's all in your head, because it's obviously not. And know that you are not alone with the pain and frustration, many of us are in the same boat, and believe me, we understand what you are going through. I hope you find an answer sooner than later.

thanks guys for responding.. all these random symptoms are just soo fustrating!! I work in a drs office part time and so i get to see the drs for free with my symptoms and not worry about having insurance with them. Ive done blood work up to waazuu and this one nurse pract. that is in our office temporarily while the other is out on maternity leave has been taking care of me. I cant tell you how much i love her!! Out of all the drs i have seen while i still had my insurance and after... she by far is the best. She understands the way other people and drs think that its "all in our heads" and is actually determined to figure out whats wrong with me. Right now she thinks that it could be between carotid disease ( because of all the CNS stuff/ headaches and dizziness), MS, or lupus. Believe me when i say i have researched the hell out of all of these.. and for awhile i was thinking MS.. but then i knew that all my other symptoms didnt match up, specially the rashes and photosensitivity. I was wondering if it was possible to have both but obviously rob, you answered that concern of mine. SO MAYBE i could have both...who knows.. i really just cant wait to get a DX all ready... LAst night was a rough night for me.. i havent slept good in months and in the last two nights i havent slept at all!! because of this new symptom-- my toes! i just cant believe that there is so much disease and weird crap out there that can actually do this to your body. Last night , after i vented soo nicely on here..haha.. i researched what it could be and came up with that long E word..lol..and saw how to possibly help it.. by elevating your feet and taking them out of your blanket or socks.. so i did that and ofcourse it made it better in about 30 mins. Unfortuently i didnt get back into bed til after 3am...and started my day at 6am..therefore i didnt get the pleasure of popping a sleeping pill(which would have been reallly nice!!). there is not enough caffeine to help me today!!.. anyway, atleast i know what to look forward to tonight!!.. hopefully preventing it by propping my feet on a pillow in bed will help it out ::::fingers crossed:::
