If I were you, I'd get checked out by a hospital. Those are some of the symptoms that I think set off all the bells and whistles for a heart attack or stroke.
Better safe than sorry!

thanks marla thanks for replying gonig to go to the doc tomorrow some one else has mentioned it could be b12 deficiency as well which when reading the systoms is possible as it other systems are menstrual problems which i have had since june only having a 4 day one in sep and have jsut started another but neither have been my usual! also it mentions intermittent diarrhoea which i would quite called it that but not going in to detail it ain't been right just thought it was the IBS!
but i take you warning on board and will deffo get it checked out as i do have aps as well! oh feels never ending at the moment!

Hi heidi yes if i was you i would get it checked out my husband had minor heartattack in july had all the symptoms you are describing they think he also had small stroke so please get them checked if only for your piece of mind also regarding your bowel problems i have had the same thing for months now are you taking mexotrexate or folic acid as i have been told this is why i am having these problems i have bowel problems immediately after taking these pills as a matter of fact i am sick today had to take tablets to stop going to toilet this is a weekly occurence with me these days also check if you are gluten intolerant because this also can come with lupus so i have beentold by specialist and i have to watch my diet very carefully i hope this helps please take care of yourself and get better soon many hugs kim l

hey heidi, so glad you are seeing your dr. tomorrow, please let us know what he/she says. So often, we get new symptoms, we live with them for awhile, then we worry if it might be something else, so we go to the dr. Often the report is that it is the lupus, but sometimes it is something else. I am glad that you are going to get this checked out.....be sure and tell them about your menstral cycle changes and the problems with diahrea(sp). Maybe they can check all of it out.

wel went to doc's yesterday!

he didn't say much except thinks tingling in arm is a trap nerve but he's not worried and thinks the menstrual problems are just a lupus- pco thing thou he really annoyed me as i found out when he did hormones test he only tested one the pregancy one but i lupus doc on 2nd nov soo will mention them all to her as well see if she does anything just feel like its fighting battle and they think i'm hypercondriact ( sorry abotu spelling!) or something!

as far as drugs doc said to start them off slowly would be good time to rule out any that arn't working! so thats the plan
and one good thing that came of yesterdays appoinment is i went to book my flu jab and managed to get it done dtraight away as they were quiet in the surgery and have been told when the get swine flu jab i am category one to get it soo one of the first on the list in our surgery thankfully pheww!!

well hope everyones ok hug H xxx

does that pain feel like something is pulled too tight in your arm kind of like syatica. I have neuro problems and I get a pain in my neck and it radiates down my arms. look up radiculopathy or radicular pain if this sounds like you. this is has something to do with nerve roots. but certainly an asymetrical pain and numbness in the arm should be ruled out for circulatory problems so I agree that syptoms like that warrent a visiit to the doc.

do not worry about them thinking you are hypochondriac i have had same treatment been told all in my head or that i am just to fat they really annoy me i get so cranky if it was one of there family they would not be as quick to judge i also have pain in left leg like electric shock and burning was told pinched nerve but my gp said you can get this pain with lupus and gave me cream called zostrix to rub on area it is an analgesic it helps some ask your doctor also my mentrual cycle is not going good i mentioned this to gp she is taking pap smear and referring me to gynocologist it could be lupus she said but it may not be she said better to be safe than sorry there are other things that can cause interuption to menstrual cycle if you are worried get referral to gynocologist it cannot hurt to check and you are not a hypochondriac just concerned about your health we should all vigilant then maybe there would less illnesses goodluck my friend hugs kim l

it half week till next lupus doc appointment and i jsut think why bother feel like its endless battle and if nots one thing its another!! last time i went i was having great day feeling really up had my list and felt really postive that things would be done and basicly came 5 mins later just wanting to cry and did so when i got home as she had basicly said because for those 5 mins she had seen me i had looked really well and blood test were ok she could not see the problem lowered doseage of steriod to 5mg which did absoutely bugger all soo much when i was feeling rough being sick i just stopped them!! and she went back on the fact she was going to send me for another mri after finding small white spots in the first and decided not to after seeing me for this 5 mins!! soo now i dread these appointments think why bother whats the point i just end up coming out feeling worse!!!

10-27-2009, 06:29 PM
oh, heidi, i am so sorry to hear that you don't get good treatment at the drs. I hope this time will be different.

10-27-2009, 08:20 PM
i am sorry you are feeling so down about the doctors i know i feel that way to i realy think these doctors need more training on how to treat there patients with respect there bedside manner is apalling sometimes i just want to scream at them and say i may have lupus but i am not stupid and i have feelings and i know my own body why are you not listening to me after all i am a humanbeing i least deserve to be treated like one. i hope things go well for your appointment i will be thinking of you my friend many hugs love kim l

If a doctor thinks you're a hypochondriac, what he is really thinking is that he is clueless and is too embarrassed to tell you. Anytime a dr treats you like a hypochondriac, its time to fire him and move on
