I was so mad, I was so sad .
I told my love that I was sick, he didn't understand.
I told my love that it hurt so badly just to stand.
I screamed in pain, doubled over to no end.
I told my love that I was sick, he did not understand.

I was so determined for my love to understand that I came up with a plan.
It had to work, he needed to know. I just couldn't let it go.

I told my love that I was sick, he didn't understand.
Many times we went to the doctor, he sat idley by listening to what they said, but he still did not understand.

Talking was not the key, nor test results, or big fancy medicnes that he could not pronounce.
I told my love that I was sick, he didn't understand.
I was so mad, I was so sad, I took the spoons from the drawer,
counted them out just like I had read, 12 the big number.

It had to work, she made it work. It seemed so simple.
When he came in from work I had them laid out on the table along with the note.

I told my love that I was sick, he didn't understand.
I had worked my plan. what's this he ask, just read, just look, just try and understand.

I told my love that I was sick, he didn't understand.
Once he started, he did not stop, the emotions came, a tear, a cry, and then OH MY.
I told my love that I was sick and now he understands why...

I read the spoon theory and then tried it and then wrote this note...

what a way to get someone to understand....

just another note from Lea

lea, you bring so much emotion to the family....thank you. Your "notes" are worthy of publishing, wish there was some way for us to share your gift with all lupies. I agree about the wisdom of "the spoon theory", but i had not decided on a way to share with my loved ones.....thanks to you, i now know, and will share with my 3 kids...when we are all together, like it should be.
