View Full Version : To the Urgent Care Again

Hi Everybody,

Haven't been online for a week or so because I have been fighting a bacterial infection in my body and have had zero energy so I have been laying low. But today the plumber is supposed to come and do some work in my one and only bathroom. I am afraid he won't show and I am going to be very disappointed if he doesn't as I have been trying to get things fixed in my bathroom for at least two months. I finally got permission from the owner to get new faucets for the tub and the sink and to take out the glass enclosure, as it is a mold breeder.

Yesterday, it looks like I got into poison oak and I am afraid it is going to spread so I put cortisone cream on it and covered it with a bandage. When I first noticed it yesterday, it itched like no tomorrow. Don't have any idea how I got it. If it does get worse, it will be another trip to Urgent Care. I am not in the mood for another trip there. Last time, it took over three hours to see the Dr. I know that's not a lot of time for Urgent Care, but I was totally exhausted by the whole experience by the time they did procedures, tests and all that.

Other than that I have been running errands for my Dad, as he had a really bad week last week. He felt terrible. I think I mentioned before, he lost another 3 pounds and they still can't figure out what is wrong with him healthwise.

My daughter, Kelly, is still looking for work and is starting to get discouraged with the job market and all. She is wondering if getting her Master's degree in counseling was even worth the tremendous effort it took to get it. I certainly hope this economy turns arounds soon, but I think it is going to take some time and that it is never going to be as "good" as it once was. Well I am going to sign off for now and thanks for letting me vent!

 Poison Oak is unbearable. I wish you relief quickly.
On the plus side - I am glad to hear about the bathroom repairs. I have a mold problem here too and know how frustrating that can be.

Hi Everybody,

Well the plumber showed up and did a good job. I am so thankful. Now I just have to get out and get a shower bar. I already have the curtain. I had some prescription cortisone cream from a prior visit to the Dr. so I used it and it cleared up the lesion on my hand. Looks like I won't have to go the Dr. after all. I appreciate all of your replies and concerns. Angel, you are the "amazing" one. The encouragement and concern you show all of us on this website is incredible.

Hi Drinkofwater:
I'm happy to hear that the rash is clearing up and that you may not need to go to the doctor. Also, that the shower installation was a success!
I hope that your stress has been alleviated a bit! Sending you cyber hugs!

Peace and Blessings
