If you're throwing up blackish looking stuff (looks like coffee grounds or tar), it could be a sign of internal bleeding.

I don't mean to panic you, but it could be old blood from tears in the esphegous or a bleeding ulcer. Please get it checked out!

That's hwat i had read too. Planned on calling doc tomorrow anyway for allergy stuff - so i guess i have one more thing to talk to him about. Unless of course it happens again tonight - then I'm calling him tongiht! Felt a little bit better after throwing up, but now starting to get queasy again. At least i'm back on my oown computer!

Yes, school is a busy time, but we are enjoying it more now. We are using a new hsitory program which is proving to be worth the change!

Thank you! (((HUGS)))

Well, called the doc this morning & they said go to the hospital. Soooo, off to the hospital I went. After having a lovely tube shoved up my nose & down to my stomach, a rectal exam, bloodwork & some Nexium I got to come home! On Monday I have to go to the Gastro doc & have an endoscopy done! More fun - at least they will knock me out for that one! Still don't really know anything, but at least they let me come home, cuz they almost kept me in! UGH!!!!

Will let y'all know how Monday goes.

As unpleasant as some of the exams can be, I am so glad that you called your doctor and were ordered to the hospital. You don't want to mess around if their's interal bleeding.

Let us know how Monday goes for you. Hopefully they'll give you Versed (or similar) for the endoscopy--you won't remember a thing!

Well, procedure went fine. It was over really fast. Doc said it looked just like the lining was irritated, but he took some biopsies to make sure that there wasn't any bacterial infection. Will find out the results in about 1 1/2 wks. He also gave me Axid to try to calm the acid down in my stomach. The Nexium they gave me in the hospital I broke in hives from it! :) THat was fun - NOT!!!! So, that's about it. Just hanging out now kinda tired.

hi lauren,so glad the drs. think everything is ok. I have interstitial cystitis which is a deterioration of the bladder lining....i know what kind of pain you are talking about....you really have to be careful with what foods you eat. I hope you can rest tonight, please let us know what you find out in a couple of weeks.

i had one of those not too long ago. it was alot worse preparing for it then it was going through it. I hope you get your results soon! Did your doc also make you do a stool test to check for blood in your stools?
