Hey friends,
My youngest daughter got married on Valentine's Day to an Airman, and they recently moved to Little Rock AFB. She just called me to tell me that they are expecting a baby on Jan. 2!!! This will be our third grandchild!!! The whole family is delighted.
Meg's hubby has four sisters, so my son noticed that the baby will have seven aunts, but only one uncle - him. Tom will make sure that the child knows how special he is!
I'm a happy, happy Grandma!

That is fantastic, Marla! I am absolutely delighted for you. Grandchild #3...what fun. And a New Year's baby to look forward to.

Are your other 2 grandchildren boys? ...girls?

I'll bet your daughter and her new husband are ecstatic.

Best wishes to you, Grandma Marla....and to all your family.

Thanks, everyone!
Rastagirl, to answer your question - My second child, Hillary, has a little boy named David who will be 10 years old in June. He's on the district swim team and is known to the family as "the little professor". (A copy of his grandfather)
My fourth child, Kayla, has a little boy named Kyle who will be 4 years old in August. He is very verbal and reminds most people of Dennis the Menace. He is known to the family a "the little wild man". (A copy of his mother)
More nice news today - My Latin Club students had an end of the year party today and made it into a farewell party for me. They got some choir members to sing for me, presented me with a book of remembrances that they had all signed, and they presented me with a custom made cane that they had bought for me! It has real Roman coins on it, little Romans, including a centurion, are marching around it, and it has the students' favorite Latin saying on it!
I was almost overcome by what they did!
Basking in the love,

Marla...

Your grandsons sound adorable. And now they'll have a new little cousin to welcome into the family. :baby: Do you guys get together for family reunions? Sounds like you're spread out...

What a great group of kids you have in your class. That's so sweet of them to treat you to a farewell party and your own personalized gift. The cane sounds awesome...I'd love to see it. Where in the world did they find one like that? Any way you could put up a picture for us to see?

I can tell you're one of those teachers that's a 'favorite' with the kids. There's always a few of them that really get through to the kids and connect with them in special ways. That truly make a difference in kids lives. I just love teachers...they deserve to be honored and celebrated for the gift that they bestowe on the children of the world. What a HUGE diffrerence they make in the lives that will be our future. IMHO...we don't take care of our teachers the way we should...I think they deserve to have higher salaries than our politicians in this country. They certainly make more of a difference. But that's just my humble opinion, of course. :cute:

Hope you enjoy the last few weeks with your schoolkids.

Fondly,

:cool2: Lori
