I have posted this request on several other Boards. I am looking for a lupus specialist so I can get a defenative dx.

I live in Central Oregon the nearest Rheumy office is an hour away but they have a one year waiting list for new patients, I have problems now that need to be addressed. I am not afaird to travel to the Valley (Eugene, Salem, Portland) all about three hours away. My pcp is trying to get me into a doc at OHSU but that hasn't happended yet. If anyone can recomend a doctor I would appreciate it

Hi Debbie...

I'm in the Portland area, but my doctor at OHSU is retiring soon. I've been with him for 27 years. So I don't know of any Rheumatologists right now since I haven't had the need for quite awhile.

But, if you'd like, I can call his secretary (since I don't see him till June) and ask her if there's anyone he would recommend. He's an excellent Lupus doctor, and is connected pretty well with Immunologists and Rheumatologists in the area. Maybe he can supply us with some names.

Let me know.....

Lori

My PCP is trying to get me into a specialist at OHSU it is just taking forever but if your doctor is retiring and is one of the lupus specialist there that would explain why it is taking so long. - I did find a doctor in Eugene so if OHSU don't work then I will try him. I don't care who I see as long as I get some answers for this crap I am expriencing. And I swear if I hear one more time from doctor I am complicated patient case and they have no clue as to whats wrong I am going to go postal on someone.

Just curious if anyone had any new ideas for Portland Rheumies they personally had tried. I'm a returning member [new registration] who has reloed to metro Portland and needs a new Rheumy -- preferably one who is willing to be my primary care and who knows Lupus -- not more focused on other areas of rheum.

Not much help for the Portland area, my reuhmy is in the Medford area, I am very happy with him. sounds like it mite be a bit far for you to go.
