Because of GERD, I can't eat any citrus/acid producing foods. Plus, it's murder on mouth sores!

i also can't eat citrus/acidic foods because of interstitial cystitis. don't know if affects lupus, but would definitely aggravate mouth sores.

I'm not diagnosed as yet, my blood work is all over the place. My mother had lupus and my sister has it as well.

I have many of the symptoms.

Citrus fruite is a big big no no for me. My acid levels are very high and I break out in a horrible rash on my hands if I eat it.

Are you having problems or just looking for ways to help easy your flares?

I have problems with my stomach so I have to weigh it heavily if I am going to partake on citrus...normally, I will opt to not eat or drink...I do know with some arthritis that the nightshade vegetables can make the pain and swelling worse.

I have not heard that citrus can adversely affect Lupus. In fact, as part of a healthy diet, we are encouraged to increase citrus intake. There are many who develop an intolerance to citrus, but I don't think that it is related to Lupus.

Peace and Blessings
