Hi everyone,

just want to share some sad/proud news with you all. My oldest daugher leaves this weekend for 7 weeks in Australia with her work. I am very proud of her for working so hard and becoming so successful, but I certainly will miss her while she is gone.

She joined me two years ago, and we teamed up to fight my middle daughter's breast cancer. the three of us made a great team....and she has been very active in my search for competent medical care for my lupus, fibromyalgia, and atrial fibrilation. The three of us have remained very close throughout the years, and i am certainly going to miss seeing her.

this is a great professional opportunity for her, so i am so very happy.....

anyway, sending my Lisa hoorays for her achievements....but mom is sad to see her go.

Aaaawe...I can tell you did a great job being her mom. On the bright side, she is going to keep your mind off things as she tells you all about her new experiences and adventures.

Congratulations! You have the right to be a proud mama.

That will surely be difficult, Phyllis, being away from your daughter for 7 weeks. Time will fly by for her as she gets to explore a new country. Unfortunately for you, it'll drag until your "baby" comes home.

With the advent of technology, you'll at least be able to share emails and keep in touch while she's gone.

Godspeed.

Hi Phyllis,

Wow!! That is awesome!! You have a lot to be proud of and it sounds like you are all very, very close. Trials seem to bring us closer and help fight the fight.

I wish her the very best. I hope she is taking lots of sunscreen as their UV is very high. It's the Mom in me. Sorry!!

Take care,

Faith:yes:

hey Phyllis,

Congratulation on your daughter's trip, but I know how hard it is to let them go...especially when she has been such a help for you.
8 years ago my oldest daughter went to Russia for 9 months to teach english...I grew up in the cold war and was actually terrified of her going there and it was just a few days after the Air Traffic Controllers opened up the airports after 911...She learned much and grew and now she has a great job that she was able to get mainly because she went to Russia...but I really missed her..
A long gentle hug and squeeze is in store...at least you can keep in touch with her with computer...just trying to find a bright side.:cute:

thanks everyone,

i am soooo happy for her, and not sad at all, i just know that things will be different (for one, i will be keeping her dog while she is gone). This is a great opportunity for her, but reality is i will miss her. she leaves monday morning, so tomorrow we are going out for sushi .... yeah for food.

thanks for the support, don't worry, i am not depressed about it.

hi ayah,

my daughter is doing great. she is working very hard, but i am sure she is also playing very hard. she is traveling to some island this weekend.

Greta, her golden lab, is going just fine. my daughter, Lisa, lives in a condo, so greta is enjoying sunbathing in my backyard. makes me jealous, wish i could sunbathe.

thanks for asking.
