How did you get the correct n final diagnosis? How did you make them listen?

Oh boy. Let me try to make long years in to short paragraph. I was getting sick about 9 years ago, and kept being told I was depressed! I'm sure you all have heard that line many times. Anyways I went to independent lab and had them test me for Lyme disease, and then I brought it the results to my Dr. who sent me to infectious disease, who freaked out and put me in hospital, for week and then sent me home with Pic line in my arm for 2 months with antibiotics. When that was done. He asked me if I was better and I said no. To that response he started me on oral antibiotics for the rest of my life and then said he didn't need to see me anymore! After 5 or so years of that crap, I kept getting worse. So finally went back to him anyways, and he said "OH! I remember you! I really didn't think you had Lyme Disease in first place!" and finally decided to send me to Rheum. outside my insurances hospital.{I think because he felt bad for me being strung along so long!} I went to Rheum. he looked at me listened to my many complaints, and history, on top of my family history of Lupus, and used a few blood test that should immflamation, but not that specific antibody, and diagnosed me after 2 months! I had all symptoms except ana positive. He said that the years of antibiotics made my test always negative! Go figure. Don't give up. There are still some real compassionate Dr.s out there still. Few and far between, but still there! Thank God
