A while ago my breasts just became severely tender and sore and my pcp said it was just maybe time of the month. So I didn't really believe her because I have never felt that type of pain. I mean I couldn't even put on my bra or anything and sure enough a couple days later I got 4 open VERY PAINFUL sores on my breasts....2 sores on 1 breasts shaped in an exact circle symmetric to each other and 2 on the other side same deal. They didn't know what to do some my rhuemy said it didn't look like the SLE caused it so he sent me to a specialist and she gave me some cream to put on them called Silvadine. This happened in October and we still are cluess to what it may have been. Although it took about 2 months to completely healed, I'm still kinda scared when the sides of my breasts hurts a little because I'm thinking that it is going to come back. Can anyone relate? Oh and they said it definitely wasnt cancerous.

I have never experienced this obviously uncomfortable and scary thing. I hope someone will be able to offer you some information that will reduce the concern.
good luck, I look forward to learning what others have to say. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I, also, have never heard of this and have never seen it. Especially since your doctors say that it is not related to Lupus. Hopefully, someone will be along who has some idea what this could be.
Peace and Blessings

No i have not had sores on the outside. Maybe it was a reaction to a new detergent or something like that i am not sure. Or sometimes if you wear those push up bras, sometimes the material the bra is made of could irritate your skin.Just a thought. Or it could be a shower gel you use. But try not to worry too much.If you are still worried and they ever come back, just ask your doctor again about it. He may send you to a dermatologist, but your doctor seems ok about it. I am no doctor, im just guessing here, but hope it helps.
I can relate to the soreness thing though.A year ago oh my i could'nt even touch my left boob. Sharpe pains, then the other went the same.So like you do....i ignored it. After a few months i decided it was just to painful.Seemed to hurt more at night when i lay down. I went to see a female doctor who sent me to hospital. I was shocked they found lumps and i never even realised. All was good though....was cysts which they aspirated.
A few months went by and the pain got worse.I was sent back to the hospital again. This time i didnt have 1 lump i had a cluster in both. They said all was well and they would leave them as they were not dangerous and would be too painful to cut out.
Now theyre back with a vengeance. I have more lumps and new ones. I just think the cysts have refilled so im not worried. I go back for a mammogram in April , where this time i hope they cut them out.

I read through your post and I am wondering if maybe you had the Shingles. Did the sores start out like blisters? I have had shingles before and they take a long time to clear up. They becames sores that finally healed and they breasts and ribs. It was horrible to say the least. Shingles is the chickenpox virus. Just wondering is all.

I was thinking the same thing about it being possibly related to shingles. It sounds similar to a large ulcer I had in the back of my throat on the right side. From what I understand mouth sores are common with lupus but what I had was way beyond a mouth sore. It was a large round painful ulcer that looked like an infected cigarette burn. It effected the entire area all the way through the side of my jaw to the lymph node causing it to swell. It was very painful before the ulcer broke out, I thought I had a bad viral sore throat until it lasted so long I looked in a mirror. My pcp was stumped too.
All kinds of odd things happen to some with lupus. Hope you don't have to deal with that again.

I am so sorry you had to endure such a horrible situation with your throat....I can't imagine the pain. Hope it never comes back.

Not to panic you, but I would get in to see your ob/gyn for a full exam. Request a mammogram and an ultrasound. Do not accepted a pooh-pooh response like "give it some time". Please do not delay and call your doctor immediately.

I also wonder if it was sores from shingles or another related skin disorder. I would certainly have it rechecked againa nd watch for any other out breaks on your body.
