It’s probably the Fibro but, I have very sore, tender feet. So much so that at times I’m nearly hobbled, barely able to walk. It feels as if I’m walking on bruises… Then there is the bone shifting, swelling and constant throbbing and stinging too… Aaagggghhh! I can’t seem to be able to find any shoe that would feel even somewhat decent – everything hurts! Does anyone share this problem and have you found any particular footwear that is tolerable? I do have some Poron insoles that help to cushion – but footwear in general is a problem. I also have small feet and with the swelling require a wide width which is also a difficult find. Just curious as to what others might be doing in this regard – Thanks for any suggestions in advance!

Hi kittyjo

I have arthritis in my feet. At first it felt like the bones were going to snap when I took a step. My feet ached and throbbed.

Have you been tested for fibro?

You should see your doctor and let them know what's going on. They might refer you to see a foot specialist.

I wear an orthotic in my shoe. Since I started wearing it the pain has subsided greatly. I do not have to wear them very much any more.

It's worth having it checked in to. :)

Yep I've been diagnosed w/fibro.

I've tried orthodics but my feet are soooo tender that the orthodics actually make the pain and 'bruisy' feeling worse.. like having a rocks in my shoes.

 I'm tired of looking/feeling like I'm walking on broken glass all the time.

Awwww kittyjo

Gentle hugs to ya. I remember well each painful step. Have you tried diabetic socks?

They kinda hug your feet. I'm not sure if it would help or drive ya nuts. I use them to control my swelling.

But since the plaquenil has kicked in I really haven't had to wear them that much.

Hope you find relief soon. Hopefully one of the other members with fibro may be able to give you suggestions. Flag saysusie down. You can post a message to her.

I wear my crocs most of the time They have the holes for vent and are wide and open enuf that they dont hurt my feet. There is room also for the inevitable swelling I get.
Some people however dont tolerate the bumps in them. I dont seem to have any prob.
