Hatlady... I think it was you a while back ago who gave some links for UV protective clothing. I'm shopping for a UV umbrella... would like some input. I went out today with hubby to the Arboretum and got too much sun. We realized I better do something for next time. Not feeling too good at the moment. You'd think I'd know by now. Thank You ALL for any help you can offer...

Lula, go to Google and enter "UV Umbrellas". You'll find a lot of websites that sell protective clothing and gear - including umbrellas. More than you'd ever need and in every price range. Hope you find a bargain!

Lula,

Also try Coolibar since they are all uv clothing, umbrellas, hats, you name it they have it.

Take care,

Faith

:D Hey Lula! Sorry, I've been wacky with work lately, not able to spend time on the board during the week. You've gotten some good info already.....

Also - RIT SUNGUARD is a dye-type product (with no color) that you can use on clothing to increase the spf value to about 25 or 30. A tshirt normally is spf5 - so it is a good thing. And lasts all summer.

In addition to Coolibar, try

http://www.sungrubbies.com/

and hats of course (look for a 4" or wider brim)

In fabrics (and hats) look for a tight weave that you can't see light through - the lovely gauzey fabrics just won't cut it.

And still remember sunscreen!

Thanks Hatlady... I knew you had a lot of info. And I'll remember my sunscreen. I felt bad the rest of that day but to my surprise I woke up fine. Strange... lately I'm feeling good. Hopefully it's not the calm before the storm. Scary sometimes.
