I've tried Jergens and a few other brands of that gradual tan lotion, my skin didn't react well with it, I broke out in a rash and the smell of the chemicals made me sick. In my book, just not worth it. I've given up on being tan.
I don't know, we may just have to embrace our alabaster skin. :) Some are fortunate to be born with a dark, lovely skin tone, if you are not and are like me, we'll just have to work with what we have. :)

Use Bare Minerals...or Colore Science natural powder foundation..They are from the same founder...same same, I think Bare Minerals is less expensive. I have both, my sister is a hair and face care specialist...
Colore Science is sold through professional salons only...Bare Minerals http://www.bareminerals.com and also at QVC.
I use it for my scarey than white legs, forearms, chest and neck. Not my face though...but it is meant for the face. I use a cream base foundation...I have malar rash.
The bareminerals site has an inductory kit...I do believe it contains also a sunkissed powder to add to the base...mix, use separate...and use the big fluffy brush....
Theres white, than there is really white. My legs are the latter...the rest of me a washed out olive...
Dust, dust...color in a pot. Maybe it wil be what you are looking for..hope so.

I just gave up and have embraced ivory. "A lighter shade of pale" if you will...
The "bare minerals" or some non-talk "Physicians Brand" or one of the other pure mineral makeups sound like a good option, hadn't thought to try them on my legs! I just wear hose...

Oh, how I know the pain of pale. I don't know that I've ever been in a situation where I wasn't the palest in the room.
I actually get a professsional spray tan (from a person, not a machine) before I go on vacation. She uses a machine called SunFx, and it works really well for me. I extend the tan with self-tanners. I find I really like Neutrogena brand - they make a spray on that works really well and one of those gradual lotion types that I've had actually no streaking from. Hmmmm......what else, The Body Shop's is pretty good, too. I've tried a lot of different ones, so I consider myself somewhat of an expert.
Of course, I use sunscreen over any fake tan!

And how have you been?
Yea, give it a try...make sure it a loose powder so you can mix it with many colors to achieve your color tone you would like..I use six tones...
I also add loose brown eye shadow...the face powder, eye and cheek are made of the same ingredients. Bare minerals has a three pod called Brown Eyes I think....
Layer it till you achieve the tone....lighter to darker and easy on the bony spots...
Enjoy, if you do check it out,

thank you so much :D i figure i can try them and see which one works for me..the only reason i really loved tanning before was because it dryed out my skin..i've always had been acne...and now its worse because of the steroids..so i guess i am having withdrawls from tanning and from having clear skin...oh the joys of having lupus....

I've used the spray tan's from Under the Sun a tanning shope here in OKC, and they work really well. It's a bronzer that's sprayed on by a person, rather then the machine stuff. It's kind of expensive, like 40 to 50 smackers...but it lasts for about 2-3 months. So I think it's worth it.
I also use the Bare Minerals make up. Let me attest to all that it's nothing short of amazing. I've never had the butterfly rash until the last few months, and with the Bare Minerals make up it covers it all up, and it doesn't dry out my skin or make the rash worse by irritating it. It's made my skin softer, and it's really really a great product. I'd recommend any Lupie to try it. I ordered it late at night while in a flare up, you know those times when we hurt and can't sleep and NOTHING works. I've been addicted every since. The brozer works wonders for your legs, arms, and back when your wearing cute little summer dresses or whatever.
Hope this helps all.....Hugs and lots of love...
