Oluwa, I haven't seen a post from you for a couple of days....just checking in to see what's new. On a mini-vacation? Busy with fun things, I hope. And I REALLY hope IT doesn't have you in those nasty clutches again. Freezing rain here...eewwww. Hope it's better where you are....

Here I am. Thank you two for asking...Jody, Saysusie...

I was having website connecting problems. And my new Gateway doesn't seem to be user friendly either. The ergonomics of the new mouse, wow what a joint crippler and the keyboard is a bit stiff for my clubs. IE7 is struggling with Window Vista....

Resolved... a new mouse, and downloaded Mozilla..and our Beloved Admin, used a rubber chicken. And maybe the keyboard will break-in..if not, Staples.

My husband was home the weekend and flew out this AM.

Our weekend, domestic...Food in tow from a restaurant, picnic and played in the park nearby with my JRT and his squeezer toy, Rudolph..oodles of beautiful Azaleas in bloom. Azalea Park appropiately named.

Repotted all the house plants. They thank me when I was done..as they reach outward and upward with more space to grow...

I sorted and loaded the laundry. He unloaded, dry and we folded. Crazy washer how it strangles the clothes...

Did cartwheels and sommersaults for days, in my mind and I still am. I did literally jump for joy, as much as I could get myself off the ground when I heard. My brother and his partner are coming for a vist in 6 weeks for two weeks. Woohoo.. His third trip to see us.

I pray for me....IT will take a trip of it's own while they are here. It hasn't been good to me lately....where it bends, it hurts. Especially my spine and hands. I'm back to dosing with Naproxen but it does nadda really, the sharp edge of pain..ah, stil there. The narcotics give me an altered ego. Quick to anger...so I rather dose with those when alone. Inflammation pain confused, does narco's will do the trick?

My body is a prune from many long showers..hoping to rinse the pain down the drain.

Ultrasound on Wednesday for my urine tract..to find out why I have become a bubble maker and crampy...no results from my last weeks lab yet. Two weeks they it takes..yikes. Maybe a urologist is needed. I don't feel so confident with this new Women's Center..maybe I expect too much. Maybe I put them under such scrutiny, Maybe I expect all places and doctors to be like the ones I had in Seattle. Equating my thinking to be like, no one cooks like my Mum.

And that was my weekend and on how was you two's weekend...

Off to pop a Xanax and call it a morning...maybe when I wake again, the pain will have subsided...and I won't sound so Melba Toast dry.

Focus, focus...cartwheels and sommersaults. It will go away (Jody reminded me days back)...Bye, bye IT....bye, bye.

Hugs...thank you again for having me in your thoughts...

So good to hear from you. So wonderful to hear that you had a lovely weekend with your husband and that your brother and his partner are due to visit you again. I love the cartwheel image (albeit in the mind!).
Unfortunately, my weekend was pretty much in the house, on the couch and in the bed. I'm having a bit of a set back (The IT and pain from FM), been ordered by hubby - "Sit your A@# down, take your medication, and stop trying to be a @#!! superwoman!" So, I did as I was told and pretty much slept the weekend away. However, on the bright side..I had some pretty amazing dreams about my sweet daughter..three dreams, to be exact. So, even though I was physically out of the running, I was emotionally ahead of the race!!
Hope your week goes as beautifully as your weekend

Peace and Blessings

There is a reason couches are comfy, and we have vcr's and dvd's and medicine...and they all go so nicely together :)

Plus I think those walk in bathtubs should be manditory in all homes and come free of charge and be installed professionally...wow wasnt that a great little day dream!

Glad to hear from you, Oluwa, and to know that it was only a pesky cyber-puzzle keeping you from our little band. Your weekend sounds lovely...so nice to do simple things, isn't it, and appreciate how they make you feel. But, it sounds like IT has been working overtime on both you and Saysusie...I'm sorry to hear that. It's time for IT to take a longgggg break. I wish the Women's Center would have some answers for you, Oluwa. You've been looking for those answers a long while.

IT has been paying too much attention to me lately, too...hope it takes a vacation before I take my vacation.

Leaving this weekend Jody? Or am I confused again...

While there, get youself a fold and roll rice mat, and a beach umbrella, so you can enjoy the sand between your toes.

I hope IT runs into the closed door when you leave to enjoy your vacation. That kind of attention is like a stranger grabbing the hinder..who wants that. I am a bit angry with IT. Ya feed it, ya sleep with it, ya pamper it and it still isn't enough for IT, is it?

Eye clearing up? Sleeping lately?

Pretty Monica... Thank you for the compliment. I hope you know, truly you all really inspire me. Your strength, optimism..your compassion keeps me putzing along.

This last year of the last 9 years of a pain have been the hardest. Realty hit big time, this is my life. And without finding you guys, surely it would have been the last year of my life...I was tired...but now I manage to inhale deep and move into the next day.

Reflecting on my beliefs I live daily by which has enabled me to evaluate my life daily, adjust, be kind, keep goodness in my heart for others. I call it fine tuning. I realize I can use that same method to fine tune my thinking about my health...it's a process.

I've thought of installing a walk-in too. Thed I'd just sit up on a chair in the middle of the shower when standing is just too much to bare. And hang my head. Try crawling to the bottom of a tub..sheeshh.

Did you have one installed during your reno?

And don't forget the remote...for all those electronics. Can you imagine if we have to get up and turn the dial. My TV would probably buzz, hummm with the color stripes all night.

I love those kind of dreams, when I dream about my Mum. It seems so real when I open my eyes, I hunger for more and I want to go back and sleep so I can be with her....

I ordered your CD. I'm Alright. Now I won't have to imagine you singing in church, swaying your hips. I'll be swaying mine when I listen to you sing..How cool is that. I can't wait for its arrival.

Couch to the bed for different scenary? I do that..from the living room, to the guest bedroom, to the media room and to our bedroom. Silly...but it make me feel less sick.

Hope Monday, wasn't mundane with IT and you were able to enjoy the new week.

Keep well, all of you...
Head hugs,

03-04-2008, 01:07 PM
Yes, we leave on Friday morning. Ahhhhhh....I can almost feel the warm breezes and see the palms swaying.......peacefully, slowly....IT will not be welcome there (I think they have some rules about that..... )

03-04-2008, 02:28 PM
Three days.... I am so excited for you.

The breeze you can imagine, it is so much more if you haven't been there before Jody... 8)

I'll babysit IT while you are gone, I have one of my own....

03-04-2008, 02:41 PM

Sadly no walkIn for me. Hubby's say's he's too afraid he would forget to close the door properly. And they are very expensive. Oh well...I'll keep buying loto tickets...ya never know

03-05-2008, 07:52 AM
Thanks for the offer to babysit IT, Oluwa...don't take any guff from IT! You give IT an inch, and IT'll take a mile!

03-06-2008, 09:56 AM

Still dreaming?

Hoping IT doesn't have you pinned down.

Be well, hugs,

03-06-2008, 10:54 AM
No more dreams...but that's ok. Three in one day will keep a smile on my face for quite awhile.

Thank you for ordering my CD. It is an eclectic mix of music (jazz-new age-country etc.) because Lauri loved ALL kinds of music! I hope that you enjoy it.

I did not make it to Church Sunday, but I did sing Tuesday at the Senior Expo. Outside of church, I really love to sing Jazz and the audience seemed very appreciative.

I hope that your week has been as beautiful as your weekend

I agree...walk-in-tubs should be standard. I don't have one, but my Mom does and I think it was the greatest invention ever! (well, in the arena of hygiene anyway).

P.I.P; Thank you for such sweet words!

I hope that everyone has a peaceful and blessed week

thank Saysusie and you do the same

03-07-2008, 01:07 PM
HI Saysusie,

Ya, I can't wait to receive it. Estimated time of arrival the 12th. I like all music too and all vocals. Even elevator music. I like organized and all over the place music. To me it is art...but I must say I really don't appreciate all what I call, whiney jazz...smooth jazz. Some gives me chalk board skin. But any other other jazz, blue, soul..I like. Rap, gospel...country..so I know I will very much enjoy yours.

I will appreciate them more for what they meant to you, in recording them. We listen to music, but we really never now what inspired the recordings.

My week has been okay. IT has been okay. Toying with me, but not tearing me up...just enough to be annoying. Causing me to be slow and quick to frustrate.

Oh, I just thought.... Jody departed today...I know she'll have fun. I think we get more scared of ruining the others vacation who we are with than being sick. That is my fear...

Another Friday, another weekend...Woohooo. Even though I don't work, I stilll get excited when them come. The ending of a week...and a new one to come. It helps in setting markers for change, challenges, goals for positive thinking in dealing with IT. Big or small...about 52 Mondays a year..

Enjoy yours,

I went for a walk yesterday on my lunch break....half way through the walk..both my legs decided to flare. OUCH

This morning I took my cane with me for just incases...one of the ladies gave me "a look" and said gee I thought you were all over that.

:P on her....I said I will never be all done with it...I'll have good days and not so good days...take a wild freaking guess which one this is. And I walk away from her. It wasn't what she said..it was how she said it. But like you said it's Friday..woohoo. :D

03-07-2008, 04:18 PM
You should have said yes, I am walking with it again, but it has another great use and clubbed her legs with it. Then ask, hey, lady wanna borrow my cane. Some people's children...(lady)..sheesh..

My husband called, stuck in Cleveland...snow...flights canceled. Hopefully returning tomorrow, maybe Sunday the latest....oh, thrill...

Awwww Oluwa

Poor Mr. Oluwa. What a long trip that is making....oh well better safe than sorry.

I almost gave my cane away yesterday. I was walking back to the office and there was a woman in front of me....lord she was having a terrible time walking. I could feel her pain. I actually passed her! As I walking by I smiled at her. She oggled my cane, I was about to ask if she wanted to have my cane when she said, "I really must break down and buy one of those." I asked why she hadn't and she said pride. So I didn't offer her mine...figured I might embarris her. I hope she gets one....pride before a fall lol.

Anything that saves my joints pain I am quite willing to use. I have three canes. One was my mom's, another is one I found at an antique store (that's my fancy going to a party stick) and the other is work stick. It's silver very modern looking  it's the GiddyUp2008 model. Dual grip, telescoping. Fancy schmancy.

Hope Mr. Oluwa has time to buy ya somefin pretty from the airport shops while he's bored out of his mind.

As for stinky britches....

03-08-2008, 07:46 AM
Who has stinky britches...?

Oh, I get it...I'm a bit slow on the uptake this AM. Mr. Oh. He booked a hotel room and always pack him 2 extra sets of underclothes...

He called, confirmed it will be a Sunday departure...

I, like you, have always loved music. My mother was a jazz singer and my brother and I would spend hours with her and her band when she rehearsed. She claims that we met some pretty famous people back then, but we were so young that we have no recollection of them at all (eg. Al Jarreau, Sarah Vaughn, Brooke Benton & others). Oh well :?
Our house was filled with music -24/7 and we were always dancing and singing. When I got married and had my children, it was pretty much the same thing. We'd put on music, dance around the house, singing at the top of our voices..'til we dropped in a heap, covered in happy droplets of sweat! Cleaning house always meant loud, heart stomping music that we could belt out as loud as possible!! Me and my kids...we had a blast!
I always read cover liners (now called CD notes) and was always amazed at the number of people involved in making a record/CD. But, as you said, we seldom stop to think about the inspiration for the songs we heard..we only knew that they moved us for some reason. Nowadays, I listen very carefully to the words of songs and try to imagine what the songwriter was experiencing when he/she wrote the song. Every song tells a personal story; be it jazz, country, blues, gospel, r&b, hip hop, rap, christian, opera, or classical (btw...there is a classical piece at the end of my CD, Agnus Dei written for me by Conrad). I, now, choose songs based upon what they say and how they move me..so I sing a bit of everything
There is an eight page liner with the CD (with watermarks of Lauri) that pretty much explains the CD. I do hope you enjoy it

Your hubby will be home tomorrow, I am happy for you and for him (after such an arduous trip). Tomorrow will be filled with sunshine, just for the two of you (even if it rains, you two will be in sunshine!)

Peace and Blessings

Just the fact that you felt compelled to offer you cane (that you needed) to someone whom you felt needed it more, speaks volumes about YOU! Added to that is the fact that you were sensitive enough to realize that by making the offer, you might somehow harm her pride, tells an even more beautiful story about the heart that you carry. Therein lies your GOD PRESENCE!
How wonderful that simple acts are those that carry the most weight and are those that allow our glory to shine through!!

Peace and Blessings
