I was just wondering, are there any clear signs that organs are being affected / attacked by Lupus? We're still waiting for insurance before we can actually get tests done and was wondering if there were some tell-tale signs to look out for that may suggest organ involvement. So far It seems that my fiance is suffering from SLE, since swelling is her main complaint these days, and of course the burning / fever that comes with it.. plus the fatigue.

Hi Concernedone;
The most obvious symptoms that might indicate vital organs are affected include chest pains, either on deep breathing (pleurisy) or by themselves (pericarditis) and seizures. Other symptoms would be found as a result of lab tests (a common one is excessive protein in the urine which indicates kidney involvement).

Peace and Blessings
