Does anyone know if using the services of a chiropractor would/could exacerbate lupus symptoms?

After suffering over 2 months with sciatica, a friend convinced me to try a chiropractor. After 2 weeks of treatments it hasn't helped a bit and in fact I seem to be much more achey and out of sorts overall and my sciatica also seems more painful.

I wonder if all these manipulations etc can cause more lupus-like inflamation. Am I doing more harm than good?

My wife, who does not have lupus has sciatica, goes to our trusted chiro, he adjusts her and tells her in some instances adjustments wont help sciatica much, he knows i have lupus and keeps me adjusted when i need it and offers any advice he feels is supplemental to help with the wolf, i dont feel his adjusments make anything with my lupus any worse and it sure makes the bones and muscles feel better

I go to a chiropractor at least 4xs a year and I have not had any problems due to those visits. Like Teroid said, sure makes me feel better afterwards. Just make sure that your chiropractor knows that you have Lupus and how it affects your muscles and your joints!!
