View Full Version : Question for Teroid and others if they want to answer

05-10-2007, 02:28 PM
Teroid what sort of vehicle do you go off road with? i have seen alot of 4wd in books over here that are from america and they are beefed up to the max to our standards over here.( we would like to throw massive lift kits, wheels etc but law don't allow it) did you get right in to trials or just cruise and enjoy the open spaces. i used tohill climb ,mud run, alot of sand driving and enjoyed peace and quite surrounded by wilderness.

i have a jeep and 3 fullsize chevie 4wd, i like to jeep the most, its only has add-a- leafs for extra clearance, that wouldnt be noticable in austr. and its taken me wherever i want to go within reason, one of my symptoms of lupus is peritonitis which is an inflamtion of the stomach lining, this has been keepin me from doin any 4wd latley but the doc just increase the prednizone today maybe i can get out and do some

dont know if this is allowed:www.jeeps-offroad.com

p.s. thats a prednizone belly :changes:
theres a couple of aussie jeepers in there

05-10-2007, 10:09 PM
when i was right in to 4wd i had a short wheel base daihatsu F20 that i had chop and made into a ute and put a three quarter worked 2 litre in it with 2inch lift big tyres(only 31 inch) and this thing was unstoppable and alot of fun,
that photo of the waterfall is that local to you?

05-11-2007, 04:45 AM
ya its on the consumnes river, about an hour away, that jeep has 31 on it and a 4.2 liter straight 6 (cant kill that thing) on thing wrong with the jeep is the stricker post on the door jamb, it keep ripping out my belt loops, im lookin iinto gettin tinted windows for it

05-11-2007, 06:18 AM
well that kind of explains your screen name, whats a ute
??????

05-11-2007, 02:21 PM
yeah my name is what i use on all my sites, picked it cause shane is to common and you have to have a number or other characters in the title,i am now doing up a old holden ute. two of the diahatsu's i have had were utes.

What we call a ute over here, you probably would call a pick-up? (has a cab chassis with a style side or a tray on the rear.)

i would be interested in the output of 4.2 straight line 6 as we have a small v8 version of the 4.2 and are quite torquey.

all the tracks i use (which now are 60% housing developments) were within 70kms of my home some were really good could be challenging, that area you go to looks like a real nice spot.

05-13-2007, 06:27 AM
there are some real good areas near where i live, unfortunatley, many are being closed down, either from great abuse from idiots or just closed due to the great amount of over zealot greenies, i respect the forest and leave it the way i found it, but both extremes ruin the fun for everybody,
vent vent vent

anyway on the 24th im gonna drug up on painkillers and bite the bullet and go 4 wheelin, i get to graduate with a assc.science degree and im gonna head for the hills, i be sure and take some good pics for ya.

ive seen may tv show on the great parks in the north of austrailia, have you been 4whellin up there, it seems as tho there are many different types of landscapes available to a great ute wrecker such as your self to play around with??????

05-13-2007, 08:19 PM

05-16-2007, 03:47 AM

how bout there???

05-18-2007, 06:13 AM
it is about a 11:45 pm friday night, finished work at 6:00pm came home sold motor bike (whicjh is more money toward boat) had a few drink and still cruisein. sound like you still have a full day a head of ya .

05-18-2007, 06:21 AM
ya gettin ready for these trips can be a bear, but well worth it to get out of town and away from the human race for awhile.

just a word, i was in the navy for quite a while, and have been on boats several times since ove been ill with lupus, its seems as though im more inclined to get seasick now for some reason so i carry motion sickness pills with me but then on the other hand, theres nuthin like chum for fishin

05-18-2007, 06:22 AM
mate i need your honest opion here i have been diagnosed with lupus but doc cant tell me what one, blood s are ok but i feel alot of the of the stuff others do on this site. i see a rhemu next week hopefully some change, but i seem to have no answers from current doctors , now my main question is if i only have dle can it turn to sle if i dont care for myself?
if i have dle do you suffer same syptoms as sle ?

hope you can help?

05-18-2007, 06:25 AM
you are probably like me i love my fishin!!!!!

05-18-2007, 06:39 AM
well bud im not a doctor, but heres what i understand:

yes seeing a decent rheumy will help with problems your current doctors are having, as they are not properly equipted to deal with lupus.

it is my understanding that dle can manifest itself into sle, im not sure if its cause to change is lack of care, but it never hurts to maintain your self the best way you can, dont freak out on this, there are many levels of sle and many treatments and the worst you can do is to cause youself stress over this as stress is a definite source of flares,

keep your chin up or im sendin my teenage mutant ninja guinea pig after
(you thinks roos are bad, just wait until you meet this guy!!!!!)

i know this disease is scary, as it scares me, but the worst is feeling helpless at not being able to work, and worrying about that can get you down, sometimes you just need to step back and take a breather,

yes some of the symptoms are the same, but can get much worse with sle

05-18-2007, 06:43 AM
also dont scare yourself to death with things you read on the internet!!!!!!!!!

05-18-2007, 02:10 PM
thanks mate, sorry it took so long to get back to you i got a bit side tracked, but any way thanks for the advise, wil take in strongly as i think i do read to deep in to stuff, i really hope this rheumy helps,

i will have to watch out for that guinea pig,

your good value mate keep up the good work!!!

05-19-2007, 04:28 PM

05-19-2007, 04:30 PM

05-19-2007, 04:31 PM

The chauffer

05-19-2007, 09:23 PM
very nice, looks like you have alot of fun when you go camping. are you going camping in the snow?

05-19-2007, 09:28 PM
naw i stay out of that nasty white stuff as much as possible

05-20-2007, 02:24 AM
how do you put photo's on?

05-20-2007, 05:27 AM
go to photobucket- its a free picture website-load photo to an album there, then edit the photos there down to either website size or email size, the edit button is on top of the photo you want to edit, leave that window open and open the forum go to a post reply on the thread you want put a pic into and click the IMG button on top, the go to your photo bucket album and copy the IMG url be sure its the IMG and not http or url, paste that into post window then preview to make sure it works

any probs give me a yell

of the three pics i have above the bigger one is website size and the smaller ones are email size, this might vary i have a very big camera(pixel wise)

05-20-2007, 11:53 AM
get it figured out shane????

05-21-2007, 02:23 AM
not long got home from work just checkin this ,have to do a bit ,i will give it a go later if i get a chance,

not enough hours in the day

05-29-2007, 07:00 AM
shane you around????

06-01-2007, 03:18 AM
hello teroid

how is it all going , yeah still pop in now and then, got a heap on at the moment not to mych spare time, i tried to put photo's on as well, went to photo bucket etc but can't get them to appear on screen.

i ended up going to that rheumy and i don't know how it will go, at least he ran some bloods as the dermo wanted to wait till december, so that would of been a year since last lot. but it looks as i only suffer from cutaneous lupus so he is double checking all bloods etc and we will go from there .

have you gone on that camping trip at all yet.

i don't know if you would of read about this over there but last week end in our brisbane sunday news paper there was a story about a boy who shot what they describe as a hogzilla size hog (we call em pigs?) mate this thing was 454kg beast. did you read about that at all? he got it in the state of alabama

06-01-2007, 07:02 AM
Hey shane
I hope your not wearin yourself too thin, when i do that i usually end up paying for it later, that what i did camping im still trying to recouperate from it.

maybe this will help with the pictures
after you download them to photobucket, you must edit and resize each one to website size, or you end up with great big pictures,

after that there is a little check box under each picture in the album, check the ones you want to post and then go to the bottom of the page, there will be three buttons, press the one that says generate html and img codes, another page will pop up with four pull down windows, highlight and copy either, IMG thumbnails or regular IMG, be sure and copy entire text, then just paste this text straight into your post a reply box and preveiw, it takes a little practice, but hurry the heck up, im dying to see some pics from down under(as im sure these ladies that sneak in here to see what we're saying are too!!!)

mornin ladies    caught ya

06-01-2007, 07:05 AM

heres a few pics from camping

06-01-2007, 07:16 AM
Yep, I'm caught!

I was just reading and I thought...it's so funny how men and women communicate differently. Like...men are just so to the point and us women like to really go into detail. There was a segment on the Today show a while back that said women use like 2000 more words a day than men. Anyway, it's cute.

06-01-2007, 07:17 AM

That's one cute dog ya got there!

06-01-2007, 07:20 AM
woops! y'all caught me too!! And YES men are really cute! Love, Kathy

06-01-2007, 10:10 AM
he's a jeepin dog, except when he got out to eat he spent the entire time camping in the jeep, oh ya and swimmin too, after that he got the seats wet

06-01-2007, 02:40 PM
did you do some fosicing while you were there, tracks look good fun.

ah well mate i have to keep movin i have 60 square meters of concrete to get down in my back yard. i think in a week or two all this exposure and phsyical work is going to catch up, also have been working bloody 48hr weeks at work.

keep cool mate
