Well, I got pregnant and didnt know I had lupus. I had my son early, and it was hard. The main thing I can advice is go to a Fetal Maternal Specialist. They usually deal with high risk pregnancies. Get a lot of rest.
I cant say it enough....bed rest and keep your blood pressure down. You do not want a preemie. Mine was 3 months early and has a lot of health problems. So take good care of yourself.
Make sure all your doctors are talking because it is best for your health and baby. Also ask your pharmacist about the medication, they should know.

My lupus went into remission when I was pregnant both times. My hips still hurt like crazy but they always hurt even when I was not pregnant and still do. I had great pregnancies with both except for the high blood pressure. My first was born at 36 weeks and my second I carried until 38 weeks. I was on bed rest for most of the last trimester the last time around (he is 6 months now). They induced me with him at 38 weeks because of the high blood pressure and my placenta was "old" which meant it had reached it's maturity around 32 weeks and was not really doing it's job anymore so they wanted to get the baby out. I started with a vaginal birth and ended up with a c-section. All in all the pregnancies went well. I hope yours do too. Just follow all your doctors orders and get plenty of rest. Remember your body has to work twice as hard at everything since you are pregnant now and with lupus it means you will really put your body through a lot. Hope it goes great. Payers and blessings to you and your baby. Take care!

Also, my derm would not give me pred when I was pregnant. I don't think it is harmful to the baby, I just couldn't have it because of the high blood pressure.

I just had a baby at age 40. Not taking any meds for the Lupus and havent for awhile. Make sure you go to a ob/gyn that listens to you and knows how to treat a patient with lupus. My ob/gyn said she didn't even want to talk about the lupus that my pregnancy would be fine. She missed gustational diabetes on me (which I found was common from John Hobkins hospital) with Lupus pregnancys. I am fortunant that my daughter is fine. She was born early at 36 weeks with some complications from that but, is doing well now. I will keep you in my prayers as I know that a pregnancy and healthy baby can be done. Even with mild set backs.
Blessings to you both.

Since you are very early on in your pregnancy, maybe it's not too late to find an O/B that thakes your lupus seriously and would want to work in conjuntion with another doctor to treat the lupus while you are pregnant. I had horrible O/B's when I was pregnant and they didn't listen to anything. My pregnancies went well thank God, but unfortunately my deliveries were not very good and I had a hard time with both.
Maybe check into your options with finding a more understanding O/B. Prayers sent your way!
