Saysusie, just to let you know you will be in all our thoughts and prayers this December.

EVERY DECEMBER SKY
(Beth Nielsen Chapman)

Every December sky
Must lose its faith in leaves
And dream of the spring inside the trees.
How heavy the empty heart,
How light the heart that's full.
Sometimes I have to trust what I can't know
Sometimes I have to trust what I can't know

We walk into Paradise;
The angels lend us shoes.
'Cause all that we own,
We'll come to lose,
And Heaven is not so far
Outside this womb of words.
With every rose that blooms
My soul is assured
It's just like a song I've known
Yet still unheard.

And every leaf of fire lets go,
Melting in the arms of earth and snow.
And if I could hold you now,
You'd enter like a sigh.
You'd be the wind that blows
The answer to "why?"
You'd be the spring-filled trees
Of every December sky.

Poem for Lauri

Blow out the candle, little one,
The long night's over,
The morning's come.
Go with the Son now,
To find eternal spring,
And there to live forever,
Where the leaves are always green.

Marycain;
First, thank you so much for recognizing that December is an extremely difficult month for my family and myself...You are so wonderful that way.
Your poem is "ABSOLUTELY" how I feel. Especially the stanza that says:
"And every leaf of fire lets go,
Melting in the arms of earth and snow.
And if I could hold you now,
You'd enter like a sigh.
You'd be the wind that blows
The answer to "why?"
You'd be the spring-filled trees
Of every December sky."
That is so much how my heart feels right now!
Also, your poem to Lauri was beautiful and, once again, what I would like to say to her (actually, I think it IS what I say to her in those quiet moments when I am missing her)
You are an Angel, in so many - many ways!
You are blessed and you are a blessings
WITH MUCH LOVE, GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION!!

"Every December Sky" is on Beth Nielson Chapman's CD "Deeper Still" - the melody is beautiful, and if you have a music subscription service like Rhapsody I'm sure they will have it. I love the last stanza too, because it reminds me of the hope in springs to come. You are the blessing, because you have turned your grief into a wellspring of comfort and support for so many others. I will be keeping you and Lauri in my thoughts and prayers.
