View Full Version : My apologies....

We have been without cable/DSL due to a financial dispute with Time Warner( they paid themselves twice and refused to rectify the situation, so we told them to come pick up their box, modem, etc.) We are currently setting up DSL with a new company but it will take a few days.
I have worried about all of you, as I am sure you have wondered where I have been. My internal medicine Doc has found that my kidney has suffered since the last bad, awful flare. Biopsy was inconclusive, but MRI showed some bad stuff. Lots of protein and blood in my urine, with white cell count up as well, so I've been on strong STRONG antibiotics, as well as prednisone, plaquenil, protonix for the esophagous, gabapentin, and the list goes on. I've been on complete bedrest and have an appt with him this afternoon, so hopefully the news will be better.
I'm typing this now on a friend's computer at her house (I can rest on her couch) but I wanted to explain my absence from the board and let you all know that you have been on my mind and in my prayers....and I will soon return to read and post daily!! Love to you all--Kathy

Oh Kathy;
It was so good to hear from you! I am so sorry to hear about your kidney problems, but from what I've heard, the medications should start helping shortly and the news will get better.
I understand the frustrations with cable companies...we were without a telephone for 2 weeks because of a mistake made by Charter Cable that they tried to blame on Verizon. It took days and days of telephone calls and me screaming and yelling and finally showing up at their office demanding that the problem be fixed or I was NOT leaving their office!! (See, look, got my blood pressure up again - lol)
Anyway, I hope that we see you often, once you are back with a new company!
Glad to have you back...I am keeping you in my thoughts and hoping that you are getting stronger with the medications.
Peace and Blessings

Really glad to hear from you and know you are doing better. Have you seen a nephrologist yet? Internists are good, but with the kidney problems, a kidney specialist is really a good idea. Stay in bed and mind the doctor!

Kathy, so glad to hear from you and that you are hanging in there. I was thinking about you over Thanksgiving and wondering if you were okay.

Take care of yourself.

You've had such a time of it, Kathy! So sorry to hear you have more challenges. I keep you (and all of the members) in my prayers. I hope the docs are successful in alleviating your kidney problems. Mary is right..a nephrologist is the way to go. A member of my support group here has had extremely difficult kidney problems and the nephrologist has really made a difference for her.

Best of luck with the kidney problems...and with your computer problems! We have a satellite high speed connection (I live in the 'boonies') and it's not exactly the best customer service in the the world...I can relate!

Oh Kathy: I was so happy to see your post as I have been worrying about you especially since you never responded to your PM's. Just to say I am so glad you are almost back and sorry to hear of your continued health problems. You really have had your share lately. I responded to your email and so when your own computer is up and running you probably will have a bunch of messages.

Sending you wishes for a quick recovery, positive energy, and just a whole bunch of hugs, because your really need them right now.

:) You guys are the best!!!
The kidney is getting better, and I feel better every day. The cold weather doesn't help my leg (doc has me taking oxycontin for the pain...I hate the stuff, but we do what we must.)
IT IS SOOO GOOD to be back online again!! love to you all, Kathy
