Does anyone deal with lichen planus as another aspect of having lupus? Have you found any successful treatments?

Hi Kelsmom,

I have never heard of it; I am sure SaySusie, Butterfly, Marycain will be able to guide you in a more helpful direction.

I just wanted to say, I've been wondering how you are holding up. My prayers are with you. It's nice to see that you continue to come back.

Much love,

when i was diagnosed with lupus and started a 60mg dose of prednisolone, i discovered several small black spots on my left leg after a few weeks of taking medications. Afraid that it was some new infection that might spread on my whole body, i went to a skin specialist who diagnosed it as Lichenplanus and gave me some antifungal creams to apply. Well, the spots never went away but neither did they spread or create any problems , so over the course of years i simply stopped getting concerned abt them. Thankfully, they are just above my knee so i can still wear long skirts and capris :P ...

take care

Hi Kelsmom! I'm not very familular with lichen planus. I did a search and attached is the following website that is very informative. It seems that antimalarials can cause it. Is plaquinel one of your meds? I hope this helps. ~Butterfly
