This is my first time posting here. I've been diagnosed with lupus for 8 years but had it far longer than that. At the moment it's tolerably under control with meds with the very big exception of some major genital issues (thin skin, tears that won't heal). My question is do many others have problems of this kind and has anyone any helpful suggestions? I'm at my wit's end! Thanks!

Hello Grandma and welcome!

I'm not sure I can be of much help except to say that yes I definetly have developed thin skin.
Back of my hands and areas around but not on genitals.

I have never had any luck with prescription creams- I use gold bond anti-itch lotion.
Its cheap and works better for me
Good Luck!

Hi Grandma and welcome. I too am a grandmother. I used lotions, but for the genital area, I would speak with the doctor in order to avoid infections.

I had major issues of this type years ago when my Lupus was severe. I used Neosporin in those areas and also pure aloe vera gel. They actually helped quite a bit!
I am sorry that you are having these problems and, as Nonna pointed out, please do mention this to your doctor (although nothing that they prescribed for me worked as well as the Neosporin and pure aloe vera). I wish you the best!

Peace and Blessings
