as some of you will remember, i nominated to be a councillor, at our local government elections.

the elections was by postal vote ..... and tonight was the official counting.
there was 6 positions up for election, and 11 people nominated for them.

5 of the six sitting members were returned to office.
and i was last in the polling.

but i did receive almost 20% of the votes, so i am not disappointed.
people were asked to pick there top 6 out of the 11 candidates.
that is why the %ages are so high.

for not having any money to campaign with, and relying on public visits only,
i think i did well.

maybe i will try again in 2 years, when the other 1/2 of the councillors are due for election.
in the mean time i am here to stay.

You had a respectible showing for not having deep pockets for campaigning. It proves that people still prefer the personal visit vs mailers from candidates. I'm proud of you for even running for public office. It's quite an undertaking.

Like you said, Steve, there's always next time!

i am so very proud of you! Most people just complain about govt and you actually tried to do something about it. You put your words into actions and that is rare.

If there is anywhere like here, trying to unseat an incombunt is very difficult work and takes a lot of money. I am glad you are ok and still proud of what you did because I am proud of you!

Steve, I am so proud of you. You stood up and let your voice be heard. Maybe next time more people will listen

I think receiving 20% of the vote is pretty impressive. I say keep on trying. The next election cycle could bring you a win.

As has been said..your showing was very respectable and impressive. I, too, am so proud of you and I know that next time, you will be in!!

Congratulations on an impressive loss!

Peace and Blessings
