Well... I'm 56, got the lupus diagnosis at 55, but I got the RA diagnosis at 35. My current rheumy says I've probably had lupus all this time, with a couple periods of "remission" years ago. Who knows. I've also been "un-diagnosed" with RA twice, and "re-diagnosed" with it twice. Likewise with several other maladies.

btw, jacqums, "Welcome to WHL". Tell us a bit about yourself. I'll bet you didn't just all of a sudden start feeling rotten last year, did you?...

I was about 47 when diagnosed. I am 51 now, but believe I have suffered since about age 15.

My sx started when I was 62. I was diagnosed a year and a half later. Now I'm 64.
Fortunately, lupus does not seem to be as severe when diagnosed after age 60- perhaps less time for the serious organ involvement to develop. I count my blessings for that. My sx are primarily in my hands- swelling, stiffness, nodules at my joints, and Raynauds.

Hi I'm new to this forum and I just read your post. I'm 60 too and I was diagnosed last week. The doctors think I've had it since at least 1985 . Hope that you're well
