Yesterday I went back to the pulmonologist for the follow up appointment after last month's diagnosis of pneumonia. 1700mg/day of antibiotics later and no improvement. Thursday I have a chest ct followed by meeting with the doctor. Best case scenario is pneumonia that just won't let go. Worse case scenario is the shadows in my lungs are hiding nodules in my lungs which will require a bronchoscopy and worse result possible is lung cancer.

I'm freaking out scared. Pray for the best, prepare for the worst.

I feel like I've been dodging bullets and sooner than later I'm going to get hit. Please keep your fingers crossed for me ok?

Ct finds I still have pneumonia. Doc has decided to not prescribe anymore antibiotics and hope it clears up on its own. I go back in may for follow up . HOWEVER, the ct also found a nodule on my thyroid. Sonogram may 6. Let you know how that turns out.

Thanks for updating us ruziska. Since anti-biotics haven't touched the pneumonia, have they said anything about possibly viral, or mabye if you've been doing a bit of anti-biotics for a while, and/or steroids, maybe a "thrush" or fungal pneumonia? I had a fungul "infection" about 3 weeks after getting rid of a bacterial one. Talk about weird, but lupus contributes. Anyway, hope you get to feeling better and can breath without discomfort and cough without pain... As for the nodule, those are usually "hot spots", and are almost always benign. Some go away without intervention (all of mine have). They can make your thyroid levels go whacky up-down-up, etc. Wishing you well there also. Keep us updated, 'K?
