View Full Version : 2 years with high ANA levels before a doc paid attention!

Warning... I'm just venting here.

I was recently diagnoised with drug-induced lupus, (long story about why I won't be able to stop the meds.... you don't want to hear it again).

Anyway, the doc that caught the high ANA levels and sent me to the rhematologist for more sophisticated tests tells me that the ANA levels were high a year ago, but wasn't mentioned to me because of a high number of "false postivites".

I am really angry - I have the panoply of vague and uncomfortable symptoms that probably won't go away, but it would have been nice to have had an explanation besides it "being in my head"!

Hi Jude:
You are absolutely right! I think that we deserve to know the results of all of our tests, regardless of what our doctor's think. I think that is a right that we should not even have to ask for.
If your ANA was high for over a year, you deserved to at least know that. Even if you had no idea what it meant, you deserved to know that!!
It is quite all right to vent here...we all have been there!!

Peace and Blessings
