Ok so does anyone else take neurontin for their fibro. I've been taking it for almost 2&1/2 years but I feel as though it doesn't do anything for the fibro?? I love my doc &trust him dearly but just wanted to hear from my WHL family. :)

I tried Neurontin (generic is gabapentin) for nerve pain in my legs. Then, I tried Lyrica, which helped a little, but not much. Now, I am on amitriptyline, and it is almost 100% effective for my nerve pain. Some people have great results with Cymbalta. If one medication is not working for your pain, there are a number of other options. You might try talking with your doctor about other medications because some work for some people, and others work for other people. It's a game of trial and error to see what actually works.

it appears many of us suffer both lupus and fibro.
reseach into fibro is easier to find definate results for.

i believe that our body's immune system, has a very good ability to modify itself.
this is done so it can combat all of the dfferent types of germs it faces.

as our body has its immune system in overdrive.......
and it sees us and our medication as an enemy.......
it tries to modify itself to be able to attack our medications.
often this takes moths to happen.
we find a medication is working really good for 3 or 4 months then......
time to see the doctor.
our immune system has found a way to counteract the medication.
so time to change medication.

i have no scientific evidence to prove this.
but lots of subjects (friends), that attest to the possability of this being correct.
this is why doctors want to take blood sample regularly.....
to see that our immune system has not started to override the medications.
