I have to make this short and sweet because the current influx of spammers really doesn't give us much time to talk however I did have to share some news.

After 2 1/2 years being uninsured I FINALLY got my insurance card yesterday! My medicare advantage plan through Humana means that starting in Oct. I can once again start seeing the specialists that I need to see! Yes, that means tons more tests (the ones I can afford) but hopefully it also means that I will actually be able to take all of my meds every month (I haven't been able to afford them all every month). Now I get to go and find out what all these other issues are and maybe start getting better instead of maintaining at best.

yay me!

Whoo Hooo, Mari!
That waiting period between being declared disabled and getting Medicare makes no sense to me.
I'm glad that it's finally over.
Hugs,
Marla

Mari - I very happy you can get the care you need, but it makes me so sad that you had to go without.

Thanks everyone! It's not perfect because of how my particular state handles people on Medicare before age 65 but it is soooo much better than nothing' I appreciate all of you!

Mari,
I know that your daughter is super-intelligent. If I were you, I'd encourage her to apply to dream schools in other states and if she gets a super scholarship to one, move there with her.
Sorry to say, but I think that things will get worse before they get better for the health of women, children and the disabled in Texas.
Hugs,
Marla

Are you at the docs' today, Mari?...

Lol Nope! Coverage starts today but money doesn't come in for a few more! I can get all of my meds on the 3rd though!

First; I am sooooooo happy for you. You have suffered so long without coverage and/or your medications. You have been 7 days with full meds, how do you feel?
I know you willing to go through all of the testing again, especially if it means being treated competently!
I am truly happy for you.

Peace and Blessings
Namaste
