View Full Version : a quick little op.

i have had serious bowel issues for a couple of months.
i have tried all of the usual remidies and medications without success.
so my doctor scheduled me for a colonoscopy.

there is a very long waiting list at present...
as the federal government is in the middle of a bowel cancer awareness campain.

today i received a phonecall.
tommorrow is the day.
it is for an investigation procedure...
but whilst there they will remove any polups they find.
(and i know i have those).

so in about 20 hours time i will be sleeping peacefully whilst a doctor plays in places no one should have to.

i hope they find something to make it worth while.
going to the toilet 20 plus times a day is not fun.

Oh I can sympathize with this one and I am so glad that they are getting you in quickly! You will be in my thoughts. Take care of yourself and let us know how it goes.

We' get this covered

No fun indeed!

I hope they're able to get to the bottom of it (excuse the pun, i couldn't help myself).

Take care Steve,

....(excuse the pun, i couldn't help myself)...

i knew someone had to add a line or two.
hopefully it will change my sh#### outlook as well.

Good luck.
I hope they find what's wrong and fix it.

My dad calls it the "Dope-n-Scope" - he's had tons of polyps removed. Uncomfortable, but like you said - the prep is worse than the procedure.

Best of luck, and here's hoping your recovery is easy, too....

We'll be thinking of you, my friend. I hope that it all goes well and solves your problems.

I'm sorry to be so cheeky. It's awfully crappy of me.

In all seriousness. I really hope you feel better soon.

The prep is the worst part of it. Remember, Versed is your friend and you'll have no recollection about the procedure itself.

well the operation is over....

it took the doctor 12 minutes to decide i was not really "full of shit."

but seriously.......
i had no polups removed.
they found 3 more hemeroids,
and a leasion.

nothing to count for my problems.....
so they took 12 biopsies to test what is going on.
have to wait 3 weeks for any serious results.
but they are not really expecting anything out of the ordinary.

so once again no-one can explain why i have these problems.
if it was lupus related....
they expected to see redness and swollen sections.
no such luck.

back to the drawing board.

Glad it is over! Sorry for the "nothingness" but I guess we get kind of used to that! Feel better!

Glad you survived your procedure- I'm sure you have a new found appreciation for the muppets! Take Care!

Glad everything is normal. But I understand that you want answers.
Hopefull they can figure it out soon.

05-29-2012, 02:12 PM
well, the lack of information sucks, but at least you can avoid that procedure again for a while, and not worry about horrible stuff happening in there (polyps, lesions, etc....). I always figure when a scan or whatever is totally normal, I can at least add that to the short list of stuff in me that works RIGHT for a change, L O L....cross a few things off the "List Of Worries, Real & Imagined"....

I glad they didn't find anything horrific, however I understand that it would be nice if they could explain what's going on.

I wish you a speedy recovery and hope you get some answers soon.

Take care.

I'm glad it's over and there was nothing wrong.
I hope that you're up and NOT running ;) soon!
