I haven't been feeling good since Tuesday afternoon and its just been getting worse. I have hardly eaten in 3 days. I have had a really terrible headache that keeps coming back, nothing I do for it seems to help. My whole body has been swollen and sore. I don't even want to go to my doctor because I feel like it will be a wasted trip and she will just say "your blood work looks fine". My mom said yesterday my face even looked swollen, which seems weird to me. I felt like ice to the touch but was covered in sweat and burning up. My body just does not want to work with me right now. I missed my chem lab yesterday, which I have never missed even when I was feeling really bad a few other times this semester, and I'm not sure that I will make it to my bio lab today either. I just want to lay down. And when I do I can't even sleep.

There is really nothing I can suggest, that would make you feel better, but I wanted to let you know, that I am very sorry, that you are having such a rough time right now.
You may want to go to the doctor anyway, so he can see, how swollen you are.

I hope you start to feel better soon! I too have had a rough week. Seems to be in the air. I don't have much to suggest either, just my prayers that all of us who are having a rough time/flaring get out of it!!

Much love!

Ive been going through this same thing for the past 6 months. Every time I talk to the doctor it's always your blood work looks great and she just writes me off as being depressed without listening me.

Ritz,
HUGS. I know what it's like to not want to go to the doc because you know that you will either just be dismissed or she'll just try to send you on to yet another specialist and more expensive tests.
It must be something going around this week. I had the worst night of sleep last night! My arms and hands were tingling and hurting all night, the leg muscles and hips would not stop spasming, and I seem to have pleurisy again. It was hurting to take a deep breath.
I had to take Jeff to the campus this morning because it was raining, too.
I can't wait to get to my massage appointment this afternoon. Then, when I pick Jeff up, we're eating at the Trident Room, so no cooking for me today!

Take care of yourself, and go to the ER if things get really bad!
Hugs,
Marla

My boyfriend surprised me and showed up at my house to take me to get something to eat because I told him I hadn't eaten much lately. I don't really feel better physically but it was a nice mental boost lol I hadn't really moved much today and when I did even just the in and out of the house and restaurant brought about this ice cold feeling in the veins in my legs. Last time that happened was with the vasculitis. I don't know if I should try to see my doc or not.

It's been a bad week for me too with my sinuses acting up. The sinus headaches are the pits, and then my stomach has been hurting too. My boyfriend has been sick too with a bad virus cold which went into his lungs. He is on a gorillacylin now which hasn't really kicked in well yet. He had been dragging himself to work since Tuesday. Monday he had to take off to go to the Dr. The weekend can't come too soon! Sure hope you feel better soon, Ritzbit.

My "nice lunch out" had some not so nice side effects about an hour later. I am so sick of this. I had a nice cry with my mom. If my body ruins one more item of my clothing without my consent I'm going to go nuts.

So sorry Ritzbit about your lunch. Happened to me last week, only it was after dinner.

maybe you have a bug.
maybe it is worth seeing the doctor, just in case you need anti biotics.
i hope whatever it is it passes quickly.

I never quite understand why it seems that we can be so dead dog tired and yet not be able to sleep - it doesn't make sense does it? I am sure that your instructors will understand. Of all the courses to be taken, you would think that science instructors would understand feeling bad. I really hope that you start feeling better soon.

Its not a bug I'm pretty sure. It started Tuesday with a really bad headache and then the swelling I've been having for awhile now just seemed to get worse. I woke up Wednesday with so much pain in my back I was half convinced I was passing one of my kidney stones but I wasn't. My stomach doesn't even "hurt" really. I haven't been hungry. I didn't really think about it until someone said something about lunch earlier that I have barely eaten in days but I told them I just wasn't hungry. Then I talked to my boyfriend and told him I just weighed myself and saw that I lost 3 lbs the past few days and thats when he showed up and took me right up the street to get something to eat. It didn't make my stomach hurt but within an hour or so a very embarrassing problem of mine decided to act up. I'm really glad I didn't go to lab today. Since then I have felt very sick to my stomach in the sense that I feel like I need to throw up but I can't and I don't think I'm going to. I'm going to my primary tomorrow to see what he thinks because my rheum keeps blowing me off and says its not a lupus problem causing all my issues but things are only getting worse. Just really frustrated.

I haven't been eating. I couldn't get in to see either of my docs. I've lost like 5lbs in less than a week. I feel so tired.

Thank you. My family is supposed to be going out together tomorrow and I said I still wanted to go. So they are carrying a chair with us because we don't think there will be any where we're going. I have to find my sun block and hat. Everything is packed up from last fall and I don't know where it is. I feel like tomorrow is going to be such a long day.

Ritz,
That does not sound good. See your GP - perhaps he'll want you to see a gastroenterologist.

Calling both docs today to see which one of them thinks they need to see me. Probably just my gp because my rheum always says "your lupus doesn't cause your stomach problems" and I guess she'll only see me for any lupus problems. I was feeling a little better last night and was actually hungry so I ate some toast and crackers. Not even that sat well with my stomach. I'm so tired. I mentioned on another thread that I get these new sores in my mouth that don't look like the ones I used to get. They start out as little lumps on the inside of my lips, then turn into these little pin prick red marks. Does anyone else get them? I also keep getting little bruises, but don't remember bumping into anything. And they are symmetrical. Right now I have them on my hips. Any ideas?

I had some blood work done this morning and some of them are already done. They are off. I'm not "happy" that it looks off really but happy that I think my rheum will finally listen to me and do something to make me feel better. They test results are identical to my last 2 flares so I don't think there's any denying that something is going on. I'm a little worried that something is vasculitis again though, and what worries me is that this time there was no stopping of my meds thats causing this. So I don't know if she will suggest more medrol, infusions, or switching me to something else all together. I think we're still waiting for a few test results so I'm waiting for her to call me.

I've had only 1 mouth sore so far and it was like yours, small, red and pin pricked. It hurt for a while and then it disappeared on its own. The bruises though, I get them all the time all over my legs, they show up around my hips, down my thighs, on my knees and on the back of my calves every time. I keep forgetting to ask my rheum what they mean because I don't recall ever bumping into things or hurting myself either.

I really hope your rheum gets off her ass and helps you so you can get some relief. *HUG*

The sores I get are usually white but now I'm getting those red ones too. Its annoying. I get bruises from doing pretty much nothing all the time anymore. I wake up with them.

Ritz,
I get bruises easily, too. I tease Jeff that I look like he's been beating up on me (He's the gentlest gentleman there is).
I also notice that I'm bruised after a massage, even though Noel is very gentle, too.
I hope that you've gotten some answers.
Hugs,
Marla
