I was diagnosed with Lupus this past summer. I have been sick for several years but I did not know what whas wrong with me. After several rounds of Prednisone for a back surgery I discovered I only felt well when I was on steroids. It was actually severe pain and overwhelming fatique that caused me to reach out to my doctor to help me find out what was wrong. I thought I was suffering from osteoarthritis from years of training in martial arts and decades of working as a nurse. I was use to being in pain. It is a relief

hi tammi, and welcome.
when first diagnosed, many of us have had to give up most activities.
luckely modern medication, can reverse some of this.
once we are on a good balanced medication, we are still limited, but not always as much.
there are members here who still actively work and play quite hard.
i unfortunatelly am not 1 of these.
i am looking forward to getting to know you through the forum.

Hello and welcome to our family. Like you, many of us believe that we suffered from this illness for quite a long time prior to our diagnosis. We were also very relieved to finally be diagnosed and to have a name for all of the things that have been ailing us over the years.
Now that you have a diagnosis, please take some time to roam around our forums here; read the stickys at the top of each forum as they are filled with excellent information, and feel free to join in on any conversation that you like and/or to start a conversation of your own.
You are now amongst people who understand, who truly care, and who want you to know that you are not alone. Again.....welcome.
Peace and Blessings
