Hello MY Cyber family =)
Thanks for the love regarding my sister.... It’s much appreciated =)
So my doctors went well! I talked to my specialist about how he handles our last appt. and how I wasn’t happy with him shoving anti-depressants in face. And he apologized! Yes that’s right he apologized!
My lupus is under control for the most part and now it’s just getting the fibromyalgia on track and well that’s not easy. I have another checkup in 3 months and in that 3 months my specialist asked me to do 3 things 1) try Thai chi or mediation 2) lose some weight as I’m 30 pounds over my healthy weight and 3) rearrange my bedroom
If the 3 month checkup goes well I can start seeing him less and start going every 6 months (which I have to say I’m really excited for)
Ok! So reasons he recommends Thai chi is because he read an article on how Thai Chi or mediation can help constrict and strain the muscles very lightly and is a good way for people with fibromyalgia to loosen up the muscles and still work the muscles very lightly. Well reason 2 is basically 5’2 is my height and a healthy weight for my height is 120-125 and I am pushing 150 but I’m not going on a diet or crazy workout routine... All I have done is cut out fast foods, cut down on the amount of pop intake, eating a lot more veggies and drinking lots more water. And last but not least is my bedroom! OK well since I told my doc I wasn’t happy with him pushing pills at me he decided that he approaches my new problem … which is not sleeping in Feng shui kind of way so instead of sleeping pills he recommends to rearrange my bedroom and see if that helps
Has anyone had trouble sleeping and have any recommendations other the sleeping pills?
Cant’ wait to hear your responses!!!

Your doc sounds like he is a fun person. I love the Feng shui thing.
Check out the past threads - there are a lot of them about trouble sleeping - it is a common bond that many of us share.
Unfortunately, I can't take the usual sleep-aids, because my body over-reacts and I sleep way too long.
My rheumy suggested melatonin, which works pretty well for me. However, someone here pointed out that it is NOT recommended for lupus patients.
I can't win for losing, and I sure can't sleep!
Let me know if rearranging the bedroom works. Is it something about which direction the bed is in, or what?
