Hi everyone. I am so nervous about visiting the doctor tomorrow. I should find out when the surgery is. I am really nervous because they have to cut a big chunk of my bottom eyelid and the skin below it. Pray for me, please. I don't usually get this afraid, but I have been a mess. Has anybody else ever had cancer in the eye? Has anyone had surgery on their eye?
Not only am I having that problem, I have these nodules on two of my fingers. I go on the 12th to see what THAT problem is. Friday, I am supposed to go to the Rheumy to see what he can do about my legs and feet burning out of control.

Thanks everybody!!!

I will thinking about you today.
I have not had any surgery on my eyes, but understand fully how scared you must be. Hoping with all my heart that everything turns out to be allright.
About the nodules on your fingers, I have several myself, some of them hard like bone, some of them kind of soft. My Rheumy said that they are RA nodules, some of them hurt very badly.
Please let us know, how you are doing asap.
Hugs and positive thoughts.

Debbie

Awwww. Marla, Debbie and Tgal, thanks so much for your warm hugs and thoughts towards me today. Well, I went to the doctor and on the 18th they are going to cut a chunk out of my eye lid and do a REAL biopsy. The doctor said that if it is cancer - not skin cancer - then they will have to do major surgery. He said he doesn't think it is really cancer but he's not sure. So I asked him why the first doctor told me that it is cancer and he said that that is what it appears to be to them. However the REAL biopsy will tell the story. I won't get that information until 10 days after the biopsy. @ Debbie, what, if anything are your doctors doing about the nodules? I don't have RA - at least I have not been told I do.

Now we can all keep positive thoughts that the biopsy will show that it is NOT cancer.
This is going to be a hard month for you, with all of that waiting to have the surgery and then to get the results.
Anytime that you feel up to coming here to WHL, we'll be here to support you.
Also, try to keep us informed about the results.
I'll be thinking about you all month, sweetie.
Hugs,
Marla

First of all, I think the doc gave you some good news, thinking it is not cancer. That would be awesome.
About the nodules, I was put on MTX, for Lupus and to prevent further joint damage. I had to get off the MTX, because of high liver enzymes.

Good morning Debbie, Marla and Steve. I am SO HOPING FOR a NON-MALIGNANT diagnosis. GOD knows I can't take another thing. I have been so stressed out not only about myself, but my husband was put into the hospital with pneumonia. Immediately after he got out, I get diagnosed with bronchitis and am still fighting it.
My new primary doctor put me on Lorazapem because I had a major breakdown. Too much going on at one time. Thanks everybody. I am so glad wehavelupus.com is here. Many people don't understand the madness of the brain fogs, the depression, fear, and plain old being mad at having lupus. So, again, thanks for being here.

Best of luck Mrs. Only eye surgery I am familiar with is bletheroplasty (sp) but what you're having done is somewhat more serious. I hope you get a good outcome.

I was put on lorazapam in early Dec. too. I just freaked out one evening (anxiety/panic attack) and my husband took me to the ER. They gave me a tab there and then my PCP prescribed it for me.

Get your bronchitis taken care of. Up here in the Chicago area, we're getting a lot of people who have colds and/or bronchial problems and ending up with pneumonia.

Take good care Mrs!

Get well soon from that bronchitis. I used to get it, and "walking pneumonia" very often when I was a teenager.
I know how miserable that can make you feel.
Could you talk to your doc about the possibility of taking vit. C or B-12 shots, or something that will boost your health before the eye surgery?
Take good care of yourself and your hubby.
Hugs,
Marla

44784479448044814482 I was trying to take pictures of my eye so you can get a better idea of what I was trying to describe.

Ouch! That looks swollen and sore! I know that you will be glad to get rid of that.
It sounds like the eye specialist doesn't think that it will be malignant.
Just hang in there - get the surgery over with - and he'll probably tell you that it is just another "gift" of SJS or Lupus.
Keep us updated.
Hugs,
Marla

Thanks Marla. I will keep you posted. Actually, I have more problems with the inside of my eye that with the eyelid. Go figure.
