Finally got a diagnosis...Hashimoto's. Doc says this doesn't explain my intermittent joint pain but I have read online that it is linked. Anyone with Hashi's who can clear this up a bit? And any ideas on pain relief because codeine and naprosyn just not cutting it.

Test results show no signs of lupus or RA.

Any help much appreciated. Thanks!

I'm sorry, Shine, I don't know anything about Hashimoto's, but... autoimmune diseases seem to travel in packs, and you can have lupus (or other autoimmune diseases) without having the positive labs. Have you been checked for fibromyalgia? That can be very painful, but doesn't show up on lab tests or x-rays. If I were you, I wouldn't give up on figuring out the joint pain. Sometimes it helps to let a little time pass before you tackle it again with the doc (if you can wait). Also, you might want to do a little online research on your own about a link between Hashimoto's and any other autoimmune disease. Here are a few links to get you started:

This one does talk about joint pain and Hashimoto's as part of a polyglandular autoimmune disorder:
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000371.htm

This one says that joint and muscle pain can go along with Hashimoto's.
http://www.womenshealth.gov/publications/our-publications/fact-sheet/hashimoto-disease.cfm#b

Both of these are government publications, so your doctor should have no problem with credibility if you decide to take this info to him/her.
