My twins shared their wonderful 24 hour tummy bug with me. They were better within 12 hours, I had the nausea and vomiting for 24 hours and now I feel like I am having some awful flare my legs and arms feel like there are weights attached and I just ache all over. I am so dizzy I can't stand up for more than 15 minutes and forget bending over to pick up toys. I finally see a rheumatologist tomorrow so this may be a blessing in disguise.

Yup, anything that gets your immune system fired up can cause a flare if you have an autoimmune disease. Did you get dehydrated? It kind of sounds like your fluid volume is low with the dizziness. Got Gatoraid?

It sure can. Another thing to do is get your annual flu shot too. I also got the pneumonia short. My family and friends know if they are sick that they can not be around me.

My rheumy says yes, any inflammation from virus can trigger a lupus flair. Sorry honey. Children are little incubators. My child rearing days were filled with viruses. I had bronchitis and pneumonia often and now asthma.

According to my rheumy, that's a big fat yes! From personal experience this Spring, I would agree. Fell better. Good luck at the doctor's.

Yes get your shots or end up like me with bronchitis/pneumonia for 6 months. Allergies also tigger flares I think.

Thanks guys for your responses! I am a nurse (but thank god I work in psych) so we get all of our immunizations at work. I also always make sure the kids get their vaccines. Man I guess Lysol is going to be my best friend.
