I am so sorry for my foul mouth, Please forgive me!

I went to the eye doctor today for a follow up on Plugs and Restasis. Today was supposed to be a long appointment with three or four different test because my doctor wanted to give me a complete go-over againg due to the Plaquenil, Lupus.etc.
Well after they put the dye in my eyes he told me he would have to put quite a bit of pressure on my eyes for some reason which cause an extreme amount of pain. My eyes have been doing alot better except when i have a flare. Which here lately i have had quite a few for some reason. Anyway when he pushed on my left eye he stopped and said that i had a huge fluid filled blister way up under my upper eyelid and he would have to lance it. Well we did that and then he said that something was going on with the glands in my eyelids and i would continue having this problem because sometimes this happens with Lupus.

He didn't want to lance the big blister in the lower one that i have had since Feb because it was to inflamed and i will have to go back for it. Now i have to use Systane every half hour and warm compresses to see if i can get the inflammation down. One good thing is he did say that the dryness in my eyes had improved a huge amount so i'm happy with that. He said that he could always tell when i am in a flare because of my eyes. Since March i have been to my eye doctor five times. I'm thankful he's a good one though. But Man this disease is never ending isn't it?

Ado mate, dow worry about the foul mouth we're used to it.lol

Well in one way you can't moan he seems a good Doctor...is he the one where you look at your photo album together ( oh i am sorry mate it's the cracks we've had).
I'd be pleased because at least he's done one blister but can't do the other and how he can tell how the sjogren's works with your eyes, it's the bloods with me but at least your eyes have improved so there are some benefits from what you've had done, i just hope you feel ok in general.

Hugs Terry xxxx

Never ending... perfect choice of words! I am so sorry that you are having a rough time with your eyes! I am glad that you went to the doctors appointment and that things were found earlier instead of later.
Keep us posted!

Terry you little Rascal, that's my Rheumy [slash hairdresser] LOL He cracks me up.
Yeh Mari i'm glad he's really keeping up with my eyes so well. I 'm pretty pleased with all of my Doctors so far ,but sometimes the girls that work in the offices make me want to scream. Like yesterday. before i see the actuall doctor one of the female assistants will always do the initial screening test. The one with the paddle over your eye and read the charts. Well yesterday she took my glasses and told me to read it. I told her i couldn't see the wall let alone the chart. Well when the Doctor comes in she "recommends that no test be done today because my yes are still so blurry"????????????. What the? I've been almost legally blind since third grade. I dont think they're going to clear up anytime soon. LOL.

One assistant did come in and talk to me for about twenty minutes, asking about how my symptoms feel with Lupus and how it started for me. Come to find out she has a friend who was Dx'ed with Lupus and RA not to long ago and is already disabled completely. She said that when she started learning more about Autoimmune diseases because of her friend, that she couldn't believe how confusing it was. I told her i was still confused.

Oh craftkeeper you have that right. This disease can make one very discouraged. Bless your heart. I hope and pray you can find something worth smiling for today (hugs).

Needles don't usually scare me, unless they are in a close proximity to my eyes. Ouch! That sounds just downright painful.

You hit the nail on the head Craftkeeper. This disease is never-ending.

Go easy, take care of you, and feel better.

Rob
