Hello.

I just stumbled across your site googling something (can't remember now what) :)

I was diagnosed with SLE 11 years ago and several other autoimmune issues before and since then, and treated with high doses of nearly every drug from aspirin to rituximab. Involved are lungs, pancreas, skin, brain, and other lesser complaints. I have seen somewhere around eleven specialists...my family refers to them as my medical team worthy of Presidential!

So...I have sort of been there, done that, and still doing that. I intend to explore your site further, and check back in from time to time. After all that, I become befuddled by this disease(s) from time to time and search for input.

Will fill out the profile thing and keep in touch. I have a wealth of experience in this journey and happy to share.

Good to see you all here.

Fran

Hello Fran,

Welcome to our lovely family of WHL and even though you've had it for 11yrs there's still so much you can learn from our threads and we welcome new input such as yourself.

So you have A1 Diseases overlapping Autoimmune Diseases like myself but 11 specialist's is quite a thing but at least your being kept an eye on properly. I've got the issues with my Lungs, Liver and skin but the trouble is i don't rate my rheumo that brillaint.

Fran it will be nice to hear your experinces and also getting to know you.

Hi Fran;
Welcome to our family. I see that you've already been greeted by some of our members :-). As you can see, you are in good company with people who understand what you are going through and people who also suffer from overlapping diseases, as you do. I, myself, have Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Raynaud's, TMJ, (to name a few). It seems that, once we develop one AI disease, it opens us up to many of its cousins, second cousins, and dead-beat siblings (LOL).
I am glad that you found us and that you decided to join us. WHL is filled with the kindest, most understanding, and most informative people on the web. Again...welcome :-)

Peace and Blessings

I love your description of all the relatives of lupus. They are a disreputable lot, aren't they? However, the people on this site are like the grandparents who always have warm cookies and a hand on your shoulder when things get tough(er).

Terry, I don't understand why doctors feel the need to keep secrets from us. Yet another way to maintain their power, I guess. Hope you have a good day, Mate.

Why do we have to go through so much and work so hard to find our own diagnosis and treatments. Doesn't this seem crazy? I don't get it?

Terry sorry to hear of yet another diagnosis yet, at least if you know it can be treated correctly. Well...hopefully. Gosh I am jaded lately!
