I am making an official announcement. We have another Western Australia join WHL. Welcome CJ....

So as you can see, there are quite a few Sandgropers (West Aussies) here now. So it is safe to say that the people here are so wonderful, especially because we live in the most perfect place in the world. I don't believe anyone else on WHL lives anywhere near as nice as I live!

Let the WORLD CHALLENGE begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is only 3 houses away from where I live. There are three lakes there as well as a big oval surrounded by Australian Eucalyptus trees. I love where I live

Hi Guys,
I finally managed to upload my pictures!
I live in one of the most beautiful places in the world, too. I live on the beautiful Monterey Bay, on the west coast of California.
The first one is from Santa Cruz, on the northern end of the bay, which is one of our favorite places to go for fun on the boardwalk or good seafood out on the pier.
The second one is a view of the bay near the fisherman's wharf and cannery row (of John Steinbeck fame) between Monterey and Pacific Grove.
The last one is of the dunes near the army base where I live. People go para-sailing over the dunes all the time.
When we turn off of our street toward the west, we have a breathtaking view of the bay.
I love living here!
Hugs,
Marla

I will try to get a picture this weekend and send it off to all of you. I live near lush green mountains and water falls are very close-by. I saw a bear and 3 cubs in a field a week ago! I am surrounded by Amish & good looking farmers on their tractors! Ohhhhh...my....!

G'day Everyone

I'm just admiring the all photo's. AWESOME! yes we ARE so lucky to be here in Western Australia. Just so love your home of horses Steve and for the Amish farmers... what a sight (only in the movies for me LOL!) but bears!#? what... and so close (scream & in hiding, peering through my fingers) gotta see that, NOT!!. Last time I saw bears in the wild was whilst trekking in the Nepalese Himalaya. I couldn't sleep thinking I was their next pukka tukka. We have a beautiful coast line here in Rockingham with seals, peniguins, the occassional snappy Great White shark and Garden Island just off the coast. When I can comprehend how to work this sight and camera and co ordinate the two, hopefully i can share some pics. In the meantime, I'm really happy to view yours, you make my day... enjoy your Sunday too. Thanks Noelene

There is a little island off the coast near where Noelene lives called Penguin Island. They have fairy penguins living there.

I attempted to post photos of Old Sacramento, where my family spent Father's Day. Old Sac is about 15 mins. from our home and 10 blocks from my office. We took a 45 min. train ride along the Sacramento River on The Excursion and then enjoyed ice cream cones as we walked along the trestle walkways. The wind was blowing and the sun was shining in true Cali style. Go to my photo album since I can't figure out how to post my photos here......

I love my country and all but it's not the best place in the world. My country (can't say the name) is fantastic and a beautiful place but it has a high cost of living but I'd love to live in San Francisco. Beautiful place, nice people, great clam chowder. A short distance away is Monterey which has (I kid you not) the best clam chowder!

I live on the Monterey Peninsula, and I have to agree with you. The food, the climate and the views here are wonderful. I also love visiting San Francisco - we were just there on Friday.

I've been there several times. I also love to go to the Boardwalk at Santa Cruz. The Pier there has several excellent seafood restaraunts.
A teaching buddy of mine is visiting later this week, and we plan to take him there.
Hugs,
Marla
